Journal Practice Pages Response In these practice pages i decided to use a variety of different techniques, for example i used coffee stains to create an older look and give it a rustic feel. I wanted to use chalk and crayon and then smudge it to then create a darker theme which would in turn create a depressive state across the page. I tried using black tape to pin down the photographs however this didn’t work because it looked to poor quality and rushed, therefore i will probably further experiment with the use of string or continue with the successful chalk method. I tried cutting out an arial view of a bottle however it was too unidentifiable therfore this was unsuccessful and i will therefore use other images that represent the addiction theme to my journal.

Analysis and Evaluation of the Journal Overall i am very happy with my Journal, i am happy with the use of different techniques for example using the dark room to invert colours and physical work such as the smudging of the crayon. I have used certain mixed media techniques such as the use of newspaper with a digital edit alongside written elements and card coloured tape. I used string around the borders which were good for seperating parts of the images from the rest of the piece.
Analysis and Evaluation of the Box My box was strongly inspired by my work with the journal and was based around the theme with addiction. I used the dark room to invert colours of bank notes, this meant that addiction was based around the loss of money. This was my favourite feature of both the journal and by box.
