BIOGRAPHY OF HEATH LEDET
Heath Ledet's life and work cover four areas: music, business, family, and community. Originally from South Louisiana, Heath Ledet has lived in The Woodlands, Texas, part of the greater Conroe and Montgomery County area, for more than 16 years. Music is where Ledet began, and it was his first calling. He is a musician, singer, and songwriter, and his music falls within blues and Americana. In October 2013 he released the album Chasing My Dreams, which has 10 songs: "Chasing My Dreams," "Wrapped Around Your Finger," "Too Good for Me," "Dirty Money," "You're Not Alone," "Forever," "We Dance," "Time Under the Sun," "Got My Eyes On You," and "Nothing to Lose." The album was made with a group of collaborators. Pershing Wells is featured throughout the record, and the credits on individual tracks include Todd Sorenson, Todd Adams, Randy Ellis, Kathy Ledet, Troy Percle, Cory Duplechin, Lonnie Lapeyrouse, Terri Chiasson, and Charles "Chucky C" Elam. The album is on Apple Music, Spotify, Shazam, and SoundCloud. Ledet's music career is active again. Now that he has more time to give it, he is getting back
into the music business in earnest and returning to live performance, with festivals and events as his focus. He also has a full album of music that has not been released yet, and his plan is to release it gradually, one new track every month. In business, Ledet has worked in two industries. The first was oil and gas. As a musician, he chose to focus on building a company that would give his family financial security, and that choice led him into power generation for oil and gas infrastructure. He grew Montco Oilfield Solutions, a power generation business that supported major oil companies with their infrastructure. Building that company is the professional accomplishment he is most proud of. He later sold it to a large company that will continue to grow the business and its employees, so the company and the people who helped build it continued under new ownership. After the sale, Ledet retired from the power generation and oil and gas infrastructure business. The second industry is residential development. Heath Ledet has opened Top Shelf Development, a home and property development company. The company follows a clear model: Ledet buys a property, builds homes on it, and sells them. The venture moves the experience he gained building an energy business into residential construction. Family is central to Ledet's personal life. He is a father, and his family is an important part of his life. He also owns a ranch in Arkansas, which is a place for hunting, fishing, ATV trail rides, time on the lake, hiking, and rock hunting. In his community, Ledet has been involved through charitable giving and volunteer work over the years. He has supported the Midland Police Department, contributing to the work of local law enforcement. He has supported United Way, the nonprofit organization that works to strengthen communities through local partnerships. He has also supported schools, investing in the education of students, and he has been involved in a wide range of other charitable and volunteer efforts. Taken together, these areas describe how Heath Ledet spends his time today: on his music, Top Shelf Development, his family, and his ranch in Arkansas, with his oil and gas career behind him.
