What if

You Were Persecuted for Your Faith?

A modern Exodus, the “wilderness journey” of Iranian Pastor Rev. Hekmat Salimi and family through underground churchplanting, imprisonment, escape, and ultimate asylum in October 2023 in the USA.

Daughter Sama, who actually tells the story, now produces Farsi (Persian) Christian programming for the Iranian church and diaspora. The book is now available directly from Amazon or through Sama’s website at: https://samasalimi.com.

Dr. Gordon Robertson, president of the Christian Broadcasting Network, who wrote the foreward, summarizes rightly: “Read the book if you dare — because you’ll never look at freedom, faith, or courage the same way again. Buy it now and discover the power of a faith that refuses to be silenced.”

Sama tells her own story of this book here: https://loom.ly/mr3S-sA. I cannot recommend it enough, not just for a great personal read of God’s faithfulness and love in the darkest of times, but for your church library, Christmas gifts, and to share the gospel in a clear, relevant manner Muslim friends.

AUTHOR BIO:

LIGHT SHINES IN DARKNESS

In small living rooms across Iran, our brothers and sisters gather in whispers, curtains drawn tight. Following Jesus means risking everything, yet their faith isn’t just surviving; it’s thriving.

One believer shared, “When I found Jesus, I found peace that makes even my daily struggles worthwhile.”

These courageous Christians don’t ask for pity, but for our prayers. They need our support not because their faith is weak, but because their steadfastness reminds us what true devotion means.

Sama Salimi Sadi served beside her parents, Rev. Hekmat and Mahindokht, in Iran’s underground church. An English teacher, she began translating Christian books and other materials into Farsi, Iran’s principal language, for publication by Elam Ministries. Today, Sama serves with Heart4Iran under Dr. Mike Ansari, supporting underground churches in Iran through broadcasting, continued Farsi translation, and creating content for the ministry’s social media platform. She also speaks publicly and appears in the media as a voice for the persecuted church. December 2nd —

Today, will you pray for their protection and wisdom? Your support tells isolated believers they’re not alone, we are family, connected by Christ’s love across all borders. Together, we strengthen those who shine brightest in the darkest places.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

P.S. Will you sow a seed today that reaches inside Iran to encourage isolated believers?

Persecuted Yet Unshaken:

Lotfollah’s Story

Lotfollah’s mind was filled with questions about life, purpose, and truth. How did I get here? What was I made for? Searching for answers, he courageously reached out to Heart4Iran’s call center to share his thoughts and doubts. As he spoke with our trauma care agents, something began to change. The truth of Jesus drew him in — and soon, his hunger for meaning was met in the gospel. One day, Lotfollah made the life-changing decision to follow Christ.

HOLIDAY

The joy and peace that filled his heart were undeniable. Eager to share his newfound hope, he told his family about his decision. But instead of celebration, his words were met with anger. His family was outraged that he had turned from Islam and did everything they could to “bring him back.” They forced him to visit a Mullah and later a psychologist, hoping medication might “fix” his faith. Yet with every attempt to silence his joy, Lotfollah only grew stronger in the Lord.

Through every trial, God’s presence sustained him — and so did the ongoing support of our Heart4Iran call center agents. Each time he reached out, our team prayed with him, encouraged him, and reminded him that the power of Jesus is greater than persecution.

Today, even as he faces daily opposition, Lotfollah stands firm in his faith. Persecution cannot stop the power of God.
