3. Mail in registration to the department office at 2 Emmie L. Kaus Lane. Registration form must be completed, signed by the participant or a parent if a children’s program, and fee enclosed with check or money order made payable to: Alton Parks and Recreation.

4. All fees are subject to change without notice.

5. Some programs are limited in size; and registrations will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.

6. When programs reach capacity, additional names will be placed on a wait list.

7. If a program minimum is not reached, a refund will be issued within 4 – 6 weeks.

8. Additional fees will be charged for registrations received after a program deadline.

YOUTH SPRING & FALL SOCCER Open to Boys and Girls, 6U-15U Learn the game of soccer through practice and team competition. Teams will play 8-games in Spring and10-games in the Fall at Gordon Moore Park.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES & FEES: SPRING 3/10/24 $45 Alton Resident $50 Non-resident Late fee $10 FALL 7/21/24 $55 Alton resident $60 Non-resident Late fee $10 MICRO-SOCCER Boys and Girls ages 3 - 5 A learn-to-play soccer program emphasizing basic skill development, group interaction and fun. We have Spring and Fall sessions. Spring session will meet on Sunday afternoons for 4 weeks in April/May and Fall Session will meet on Sunday afternoons for 4 weeks in September/October. Players must wear shin guards and tennis shoes (no cleats) and bring a #3 soccer ball.

FEE: $25 RIVERBEND BASEBALL/SOFTBALL LEAGUE League schedules usually begin on the 2nd Saturday in May with 10 games and a postseason tournament in July. Home games will be played at Gordon Moore Park with additional games held at Glazebrook Park and the Jerseyville Sports Complex. All T-Ball and Pitching Machine games are at Gordon Moore Park, only.

Early bird (11/1/23-2/23/24) Regular (2/24/24-4/17/24) SUMMER DAY CAMP BOYS AND GIRLS COMPLETING GRADES K-5 There will be 8 weeks of Summer fun in June and July. Sessions will be from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, at Gordon Moore Park to enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts, and other special activities. Weekly field trips to the Alton Splash Pad, bowling, etc., will be scheduled throughout camp.

FEE: $40.00/per session YOUTH RECREATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE Boys and Girls in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades Learn the fundamentals of basketball through practice and team competition. The league will play on evenings during the week. Practices will start in early January. Games will be played in late January through mid-March.

FEES: $45.00-$50.00 TENNIS TOURNAMENTS - Register online at USTA.com *USTA Sanctioned Tournaments JUNIOR TENNIS CLINICS Group lessons. Learn the game through fun, instruction, drills, and games. There are five 1-week sessions, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), 1 hour per day.

FEE PER SESSION: $30.00 PROGRAMS & TIMES Grade School (ages 7-11) 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Middle and High School (ages 12 – 18) 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

GOLF LEAGUE SENIOR SCRAMBLE (ages 50+) Held every Wednesday (April through October) at Rock Spring Golf Course. Individuals sign up and are placed on 4-man teams. Accumulate points towards “Senior Golfer of the Year” competition. $5.00 for skins. Check the hotline 325-0035 for updates.

DISC GOLF The18-hole disc golf course has been redesigned in the formerly unusable terrain at Rock Spring Park. The first tee is adjacent to the large parking lot in the upper half of the park.

NEW – A newly designed 18-hole disc golf course is located at Gordon Moore Park across from the Muenstermann building

SPECIAL INTEREST ALTON SPLASH PAD Season: Memorial Day – Labor Day Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm Private Rentals: You can reserve the Splash Pad for a private rental from 6-8pm, up to 100 people.

Private Rental Prices: Residents – $150 Non-residents – $200 Birthday Party Rental: You can reserve our designated birthday party area, up to 20 people (during normal operating hours). The rental fee includes small hot dogs, chips, and drinks for up to 20 people. Renters will get a reserved area, including 4 picnic tables.

Birthday Party Rental Price: $100 NEW – SOCCER MINI-PITCH Installed at Rock Spring Park in 2022 thanks to the efforts of Damian Jones and SALT. Open play from day light until 10pm.

CARILLON CONCERTS Sundays at Gordon Moore Park in the Nan Elliott Memorial Rose Garden at 5:00 p.m.

(Memorial Day weekend through September).

ALTON MUNICIPAL BAND CONCERTS Riverview Park Thursdays in June/July, 8 pm Haskell Park Sundays in June/July, 7 pm FISHING CLASSES The Illinois Department of Natural Resources holds fishing classes at Gordon Moore Park Lake. These classes teach hook baiting, casting, pole rigging, and differences in fishing for different types of fish. To register contact IDNR directly. Dates: TBD ALTON DOG PARK East end of Russell Commons Park, east of Alton Riverfront Park, & south of River Heritage Parkway-Illinois Route 143-Berm Highway The fee is $25 annually for up to three dogs for Alton residents; $35 for non-residents Day pass is $5.

Owners must bring proof of up-to-date vaccinations and proof of spay or neuter for all dogs.

Dogs that are not spayed or neutered are not allowed in the dog park.

Passes can be purchased at City Hall, the Alton Marina, or the Parks and Recreation office.

BETHALTO PARKS Central Park - located behind Village Hall, this park is home to the annual Bethalto Homecoming, Bethalto Christmas Village and several other events. The park includes lighted tennis courts, lighted basketball court, open space, picnic facilities and a bandstand. The park is home to Bethalto Splash Pad.

Bethalto Arboretum - adjacent to Central Park, contains more than 150 different species of trees and plant life on 2.5 acres. Contains a fitness path, war memorial and perennial garden.

Bryant Park - located along Culp Lane and Stadium Drive features fishing lake, one-mile walk or bike path, picnic areas, playground, multiple pavilions and restrooms.

Sportsman’s Park - located along Culp Lane west of Culp Park. Home to the civic Memorial Eagles baseball and softball teams this park includes (2) regulation size baseball diamonds, (2) softball diamonds, a youth baseball diamond, (2) regulation soccer fields, multiple seating areas, press box and concession stand.

Bryant Park

Rotary Park - located at the corner of Grant St and West Corbin. This park was built by the Bethalto Rotary Club to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International and contains the Rotary Gear Logo with a span of more than 80 feet believed to be the largest in existence.

Water Tower Park - located at intersection of Second and Grant Street is a small neighborhood park West End Park is at the intersection of Plegge and Old Bethalto Road

Collins House 703 West Main Street the focal point of the park is the D.D. Collins House which is a Greek revival home built in 1845, the house is open for tours Saturdays 11 am to 3 pm.

Collinsville Aqua Park 10 Gateway Dr. home to 7 water slides, monsoon mountain, lazy river, leisure pool, lap pool, and aqua climb wall.

Glidden Park Branch Street offers tennis, pickleball, basketball, playgrounds, picnic areas and walking trails.

Morris Hills Park Woodland Dr. this 1.4 acre park is tucked away in a beautiful secluded area and includes basketball court, playground equipment and a picnic area.

Hotz Park - 300 Randle Street is the smallest park in Edwardsville and one of the smallest parks in the country. Located at the intersection of St. Louis and Randle Street, it holds a huge stone bearing a bronze plaque, commemorating the City's five resident Governors.

City Park - 101 South Buchanan on 2.088 acres, site of Edwardsville Pulbic Library and Cleanon Etzkorn Bandstand. Location of many festivals including Route 66 in June and Edwardsville Symphony and Friday night concerts Drda Woods - 5404 New Poag Road is a 71 acre park that is currently being reforested with the help of volunteers and the HeartLand Conservancy. Future restoration will include a parking lot and walking path.

This beautiful park includes three playground areas, historic bandstand gazebo, large picnic pavilion along with two small picnic shelters (rentable), bbq grills, handicap accessible restrooms, two acre fishing lake with lighted fountain and waterfall. GODFREY PARKS Clifton Terrace Park: 3216 McAdams Parkway (Route 100), Clifton Terrace Park is a beautiful 3-acre park located on the Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Byway along the Mississippi River. Clifton Terrace Park is a rest stop on the stateowned Vadalabene Bike Trail. Clifton Terrace Park offers a playground, memorial trees, an informative kiosk and restroom facilities. Clifton Terrace is a great place for eagle watching during the winter months.

Godfrey Ball Park: 810 Stamper Lane, The Godfrey Ball Park is home to six baseball/softball diamonds and a concession stand with restroom facilities. The youth baseball and softball programs take place at the Ball Park and across the street at the new ball fields in Glazebrook Park. The concession stand is open during games during May, June and July.

Glazebrook Park: 1401 Stamper Lane, Glazebrook Park is the site of all of the special events, including the Great Godfrey Maze in September and October.

Glazebrook Park measures 120-acres with two ponds, two playgrounds, two concession stands, three restroom facilities, two rentable shelters, a rentable gazebo, four soccer fields, four lighted-baseball fields and over 2.5 miles of walking trails. Glazebrook Park is home to many of the memorial trees planted annually through memorial donations.

YOUTH PROGRAMS RIVERBEND BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL LEAGUE Batter up! Our youth baseball and softball program seeks to teach participants the fundamentals of baseball and softball while instilling good sportsmanship values. Practice will begin in early April with games beginning early May. All home games are played at the ball fields at Glazebrook Park and the Godfrey Ball Park on Stamper Lane. The end of the season tournament for pitching machine will be held the week leading up to the 4th of July.

6 V 6 VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE This league offers participants a chance to improve their volleyball skills and have fun with team practice and games. Leagues will be divided up based on grades: 5th - 6th, 7th -8th and 9th - 12th.

Participants may sign up as a team or as an individual with a maximum roster size of 8.Teams will have self-run practices and games concluding with a single-eliminationtournament at the end of the season. All participants will receive a t-shirt.

CHALLENGER INTERNATIONAL SOCCER CAMP The Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department is proud to host the Challenger International Soccer Camp again this year. Experienced soccer coaches from overseas will focus on challenging players to improve their skills with maximum participation, maximum ball touches and maximum fun!

Participants are encouraged to sign up for the Challenger International Soccer Camp online at www.challengersports.com.

Grades: 5 - 12 Saturdays 11:00 am - 5:00 pm March - May Location: North Elementary

You can make this camp even more enlightening by hosting one of the International coaches for the week. You will receive a camp scholarship (up to $80) for your hospitality. METRO EAST RECREATIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE (MERBL) This league is for high school aged boys (ages 14-18) for competitive recreational summer baseball. MERBL allows anyone who is a freshman in the 2023-2024 school years, or anyone who will be graduating in the spring of 2023, an opportunity to play in this travelling recreational league. MERBL follows NFHS baseball rules, with some addendums. The league will consist of 14 games, beginning in late May/early June and ending by the end of July (weather permitting). A single elimination tournament will be played at the end of the season. This is a travelling league—other teams in the league consist of O’Fallon, Belleville, Millstadt, Troy, Granite City and Collinsville.

Tiny Tykes Lions is available for campers ages 4-6. Participants will get exposure to games, competitions and skill-building activities for two hours per day.

CHEERLEADING CAMP U Rah Rah! All the essentials of proper cheerleading -- cheers, stunts, jumps, and voice projection -- will be covered in this comprehensive clinic. The cheerleaders will perform during select games at the end-of-year March Madness basketball tournament.

All participants will receive a T-shirt to cheer in.

DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE The Parks and Recreation Departments of Godfrey and Alton partner up to host a Daddy-Daughter Dance annually.

Dads and Daughters are invited to put on their dancing shoes, dress their best and step out together for a fun Valentine’s event from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. This event is open to fathers (and father figures) and their daughters ages 3-12.

The night will include a DJ and dancing, photos, crafts, appetizers and more. The price is $40 per couple and $15 per extra daughter. You can register at either Park & Rec office. Please make checks payable to whichever Parks office you submit the registration form.

ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION Have you hugged a tree lately? Join the Village in celebrating the environment and all things trees with the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department at Glazebrook Park! The day kicks off at 9:00 am with a youth fishing derby and continues through 3:30 pm with face painting, environmental crafts, youth games and more! Free redbud tree seedlings will be given away to the first 300 visitors.

The Memorial Tree Dedication Ceremony will take place at 1:30 pm to recognize the individuals for whom the last year’s dedication trees were planted.

MOTHER SON BOWLING The Parks and Recreation Departments of Godfrey and Alton are partner up to host an annual Mother-Son Bowling event. Join us at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton for two games of bowling and dinner. This is a great opportunity to have some fun spending time together with a little competition mixed in. The bandstand is used for special events and outdoor concerts.

Baseball & Softball Diamonds - Emerick Sports Complex, at Sixth Street, has three lighted softball diamonds; Lions, Jaycee and Rotary Fields and one baseball diamond, Dwiggins Field. West End Park (Walcott Street) have one lighted diamond.

Basketball Courts – Outdoor half courts are available at East End Park and Brushy Grove Park. Moreover, these specific courts are open to the public. Indoor courts are available at the recreation center. However, these require either a membership or a daily pass to use.

Belk Park Clubhouse Multipurpose Hall - Our clubhouse has a multipurpose hall that will seat 168 comfortably, with an outstanding view of the golf course. It has tables and chairs available along with a big screen television and electric fireplace. This room is great for receptions or banquets. It can be rented by contacting Belk Park Golf Course.

Fishing - Belk Park Lake and Emerick Sports Complex have fishing available to the public.

The park hours are from dawn to dusk. A fishing license is required for anyone 16 & older.

Anyone under 16 can fish without a license when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Pickleball Courts – Three outdoor courts are available at East End Park and are open to the public. Six indoor courts are available at the recreation center. However, these require either a membership or a daily pass to use.

Picnic Areas - Wood River has several picnic areas which are available in the many parks in town. Central Park has picnic tables under a Gazebo-type shelter where there are barbecue pits and electrical outlets available. There are picnic areas and shelters available at East End, West End, Belk & Soccer Parks. To reserve these shelters please call the Round House at 251-3130.

PARKS Wood River provides eight major parks with over 300 acres of facilities. The parks include: Belk Park - 234-acres is our largest park located on Rock Hill Road at the eastern edge of the city. In addition to the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, the present facilities include a lake with fishing, picnic areas, an open field, children’s playground equipment, shelters (which can be rented by visiting the Round House), woodland, open space and a walking path.

Belk Park has a clubhouse for rent with a nice-sized multipurpose room and seating for 168.

Brushey Grove Park - This one-acre park is located at the corner of Linton and Miland, next to the old fire station. This park includes a playground facility and basketball court.

Central Park (Round House) - A five-acre park located on Wood River Avenue, adjacent to the High School, offers many activities which include bandstand, playground, gazebo, barbecue pits, Veteran’s Memorial and large activity center commonly referred to as the “Round House”.

Emerick Sports Complex - This 8-acre complex is located on the North End of Sixth Street at Park Lane.

The highlight for the children is our new playground.

This colorful addition has plenty to keep the young ones entertained for hours. This complex is the sight of our Men’s Softball league and our summer youth league games. This facility contains three lighted softball diamonds and one baseball diamond. There is a concession stand, and a lake for fishing.

West End Park - This 5.5-acre park can be found in the southwest part of town on Walcott St. It has a lighted ball diamond (George Wallace Field), shelter facilities, basketball hoop and playground equipment.

Adult Softball Leagues The Recreation Department has many different types of softball leagues available. All leagues will play 14 games based on an 8-team schedule, unless stated otherwise. In all leagues you must be at least 18 years of age except Co-Ed where the age requirement is 16 years. This league is in partnership with Alton Parks & Recreation.

There is a Spring Session that starts in April and a Fall Session that starts in September.

Breakfast With Santa: Join us at the Round House for 40th annual Breakfast with Santa and get into the Christmas spirit. Each breakfast includes pancakes, sausages, milk, juice and coffee. Adult and child plates are available for purchase. The children have the chance to have their picture taken with Santa for free. No reservations are required. Date: Saturday, December 14th, 2024.
