Why do you think it is important to be a good citizen at school and in your community?
• Student Leadership
I believe it is important to be a good leader and always provide service to the community and schools, therefore, it can encourage others to do the same. Without our schools and community, there would be no foundation to set for our future leaders such as police officers, teachers, lawyers, doctors, firemen, etc. to strove beyond the limits of their full potential. Leadership is not only a quality to have during hard times but all the time. Being a good citizen and leader lets me pour gifts and talents into the youth of our community which I hope one day makes an impact in their lives.

I think it’s essential to be a good citizen simply because you’re representing your family. With everything you do, you’re representing some part of your family, and that’s important. Also, being a good citizen comes with being that mentor and inspiring factor most kids need. Everyone looks up to someone. Also, being a good citizen is helping the community, and showing that the town has great leaders also makes people want to rise to your standard.

Why do you think it is important to be a good citizen at school and in your community? To me, being a good citizen means showing respect, compassion, and responsibility, both inside the classroom and outside in the community. Growing up, I’ve seen how one person’s kindness or leadership can make a real difference, whither it be when a classmate stands up for someone or when volunteers come together after a big storm. Being someone others can count on not only builds trust but also creates a stronger, united community for everyone. Whether it’s helping my classmate with homework or volunteering in the community, small actions can lead to big change.

I have lived here since birth and can’t imagine anywhere else I would rather be. This community has played a big role in shaping who I am today. In a tight-knit town like this, people look out for one another, and everyone feels like a family. The strong sense of belonging and connection here has taught me the importance of kindness, respect, and working together. Why do you think it is important to be a good citizen at school and in your community? Being a good citizen at school and in your community is important because it creates a respectful, supportive environment for everyone. It fosters positive relationships, encourages teamwork, and promotes empathy, making learning and living together more enjoyable. Through Student Council, 4-H and school service projects, I have been able to watch and practice citizenship in my community. These organizations promote service and leadership in local settings. Thankfully, I have seen the example of citizenship from my parents, teachers, and leaders. This has given me a true picture of how I should give back to my community. I truly believe we were not meant to exist alone, but help each other.

• 4-H Livestock judging/ skillathon Why do you think it is important to be a good citizen at school and in your community?
I have lived in Kress my whole life. I believe that Kress is a great place to live because people support and encourage each other like one big family. What do you hope to do after high School? After high school I plan to attend San Angelo State University with plans to become a commercial airline pilot.
Being a good citizen means always doing the right thing even when no one is watching. From picking up trash through Adopt A Highway, donating items to the Kress food Pantry, and supporting the local fire department I strive to be a good citizen.

Why do you think it is important to be a good citizen at school and in your community?
I have lived in this community for 7 years. What makes Plainview a great place to live for me is being able to attend a school at Plainview Classical Academy. Another area I have been blessed in my life is with my church community at Plainview First Assembly.
I think that being a good citizen at school and in my community allows me to make an impact on those around me. Whether it be providing food or kindness, small acts of good can turn into large improvements for a community.

After high school, I hope to enroll into college so I can learn how to become a financial adviser. After college, I am going to live in an apartment, find my soulmate, have a child, get hired as a financial advisor, and create books for a hobby.
I think it is important to be a good citizen at school and my community because I would like to live in a world where everybody got along, didn’t lie, or break the law. Personally, I believe that it is my responsibility to take the first step.
