ew owners Jonathan and Maree Hall both have backgrounds in health. Jonathan has spent over 15 years delivering information and technology health projects in the tertiary sector and enjoys the reward of delivering projects that improve patient care. Maree is a qualified, practicing personal trainer specialising in pre/post-natal exercises and back problems. She has vast experience in sport and has competed in athletics at the national level. Jonathan and Maree have two teenage children and lead an active lifestyle and particularly enjoy the amazing bike tracks around Cambridge and the Waikato region.

Raewyn (store manager), Anna and Krestie are all qualified naturopaths. Jolene is in her final year of naturopathic studies. The team prides themselves in being the local place for expert advice. They all like to keep up to date with current research and often have robust discussions on the latest trends. Everyone embraces the natural lifestyle which they share with their families including their fur babies.

With so many years of experience between the team, Health 2000 Cambridge are able to offer our customers professional advice and guidance and demystify the natural health world for them. fter 12 years specialising in emergency nursing, my love for natural health led to purchasing Health 2000 Timaru in 2022. As a wife and mother of two children, the use of natural remedies and preventative care started within my own home. Seeing first-hand the efficacy of natural medicine within my young family blossomed a new appreciation for the power of natural health. Having the opportunity to turn that appreciation into an area of work where I get to empower and educate others on something I am so passionate about is just so incredibly rewarding. I genuinely love seeing my customers thrive in a community I care deeply for and feel privileged to call home.

I have a wonderful team of women who each specialise in different fields of natural health and who are incredibly passionate about this industry and its development.

Karoline is our instore naturopath; she has a brilliant mind and a wealth of knowledge that she is passionate about investing into our clients.

Bridget has worked and owned Health 2000 stores across New Zealand over the last 18 years. Her experience in and appreciation for natural health is evident in both her approach and knowledge base.

I am also lucky enough to have two of my sisters, Jess and Georgia work alongside me. Our mother who was also a nurse instilled in all of us an inquisitive mind and holistic approach to health and wellbeing which I believe our clients benefit from. We have a deeply rooted understanding that our physical, mental and spiritual health is interconnected and our approach to natural remedies and preventative care is encompassing of that.

Finally, Marg is our in-house medicinal herbalist who specialises in addictions, mental health and chronic health conditions. Marg is intuitive, sincere and unassuming, her vast experience across each of her specialties is an invaluable addition to our Health 2000 family.

We truly have the most incredible team of women who are fervent about evolving their own knowledge and skill set to meet the needs of our growing cliental. Who knew there could be so many forms of magnesium?

There is also the overwhelm that comes when you have some sort of health problem going on, and you get advice from all your friends and family about products that ‘worked for them when they had the same issue’, but nothing seems to be working for you.

It’s often at this point that you think you must be broken because nothing

Vitamin B12 – This vitamin is predominantly obtained

from animal sources, so easily becomes deficient in a vegan diet. This is why there are many fortified vitamin B12 foods around. Natural sources that contain some vitamin B12 include fermented foods such as tempeh, algae, seaweed and some types of mushrooms.

Vitamin D3 – Food sources of vitamin D include eggs and oily fish, with limited plant sources like mushrooms and pumpkin seeds. Of course, it can also be made through our exposure to sunlight. However, in winter months, and for those in summer who try to cover up or are vigilant sunscreen wearers, low vitamin D can be an issue.

Vitamin A – This is another vitamin predominantly

found in animal sources such as dairy products, eggs and oily fish. Vegans need to make vitamin A by consuming carotenoids from fruit and vegetables – mostly orange coloured ones. The efficiency of the conversion process varies from person to person, which could affect an individual's vitamin A levels.

s the new year approaches, it can be a great time to reflect on the past year and plan goals for the upcoming year. It’s often easy to start strong but end up losing motivation as the year goes on and your busy, everyday life gets in the way.

The secret to setting and achieving your new year’s resolutions is to think SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely. The SMART goals method allows you to set clear, attainable goals and maintain the motivation to achieve them.

Your feel-good hormone dopamine kicks in and rewards you with a boost of motivation and happiness for your accomplishments. Remember, you can always set and achieve multiple smaller goals along the way.

Relevant How does this goal fit into your lifestyle? You will find it easier to achieve goals that fit into your life and other bigger objectives you want to achieve. Your goals should be personal so take time to reflect and ensure your goals truly matter to you.

Specific Starting broadly, think about what you want to achieve and why. Many people use the new year to set health and fitness goals.
