Global Rare Disease Day
The global awareness-raising campaign for people living with a rare disease takes place annually on the last day of February. The countdown has begun to the 13th edition of Rare Disease Day which will take place on 29 February 2020, the rarest day of the year. The campaign is co-created with 60 rare disease national alliance partners around the world! The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives.
The campaign targets primarily the general public and also seeks to raise awareness amongst policy makers, public authorities, industry representatives, researchers, health professionals and anyone who has a genuine interest in rare diseases. Thousands of events take place in over 100 countries to mark the occasion!
