W E LC O M E F R O M T H E M AYO R Healdsburg is always a special place to enjoy for the holidays, but this year we have really gone big! We have a beautiful 45’ tree in our downtown Plaza, along with other beautiful lighting art. Our community welcomes everyone to enjoy our small town atmosphere during the holiday shopping season. If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies, you can experience the same warm feeling right here in Healdsburg! With so many unique offerings, you are guaranteed to find everything you need on your shopping list. Come and enjoy our wonderful town and remember to shop local! Happy holidays! Evelyn L. Mitchell, Mayor City of Healdsburg

WELCOME FROM THE CHAMBER CEO So many of us have busy lives during the winter months and during this final quarter of a very busy season. The saving grace to the hustle and bustle is the warm welcoming holiday vibe Healdsburg presents to both visitor and locals alike. This is a time of year that we push hard for local support. Shopping local and keeping tax dollars here is something that people should recognize helps with beautifying our community and parks, helps to build affordable housing and stimulating our economy for the future to name a few. The Chamber prides itself on supporting our members who contribute back to this community. We hope this Holiday you have been able to attend one of our new events such as Sip and Shop where we paired local retailers and wineries to bring community together, and allow our members who don’t have brick and mortar to participate in a shopping evening. We sold over 1,000 tickets and received great response from our locals. We also partnered with HTID and the City to bring Healdsburg it’s first “tree lighting “extravaganza. Over 1000 attendees celebrated an evening of holiday events in the plaza on December 3rd. We also lit a beautiful menorah in our gazebo. Healdsburg has so much to offer but it truly is a magical place when it comes to the Holidays. Give yourself the gift of walking around the plaza, enjoying the lights and buying a treat for you or a loved one this Holiday. Please enjoy a few photos from our celebration. We wish you and yours a magical holiday and happy new year! Sincerely, Tallia Hart CEO

Healdsburg Sip and Shop NOVEMBER 27, 2021 Healdsburg hosted its first ever Sip and Shop, Small Business Saturday on November 27th, partnering with American Express. Hundreds of locals came to enjoy local wines, a spri bites, and a chance to kick-start holiday shopping downtown. For $25 at the door ticket sale (or $20 pre-sale), this was the best wine tasting value in town. By Caroline Bontia When Tallia Hart, CEO of the Healdsburg Chamber, asked us to take over their Instagram account for Healdsburg's first Sip and Shop event on Small Business Saturday, our immediate reaction was a bit of fear (on knowing how to do a takeover) and also a bit of skepticism: How many stops could we actually hit in the 15 local stops with a $25 walk-in ticket between 4pm - to 7pm downtown? And 15 shop stops and sips just for $20 (pre-sale) or $25? On average that would mean twelve minutes per stop and quite a bit of sipping pours. To our pleasant surprise, we managed to hit at least thirteen stops and had a great opportunity to also chat with vintners and small business owners and find out their best sellers right now and their favorites. Here's what we gathered from yesterday's event, buzzed sipping, with merriment, and of course, some holiday shopping. VINTNER'S HOLIDAY PICKS & WHAT'S SELLING NOW AND FUN FACTS Portalupi Wine - The Barbera. According to vinter Tim Borges, the Barbera lends itself to be the greatest food wine ever, especially pairs well with northern Italian cuisine with great acidity and stands up to the likes of risotto.

Breathless Wine - Sharon Kohn's (the eldest of her three founding vintner sisters, Rebecca and Cynthia) pick is their Brut. Sharon was pouring at the beautiful Arena Gallery. It's a tasty bubbly and who can resist their pretty, fun packaging? Ullage - Vintner Paul Kochevar was pouring wines from Forager. His recommendation was the Granache Blanc. Described aromatically: Apricot sugar cookies, wet rocks, white flowers. Taste: Dried peaches, black tea, melon rind. VML Wines - We fell immediately with intrigue and like for these bottles. The packaging is overwhelming detailed and mysterious and we loved the story that our host, Derrick shared a fun label design with their "Svengali" (translation simply, as control) Syrah. Their earthy pinot noir is delicious. We're kinda in love

with the Svengali story, which if you turn the bottle horizontally, suddenly, the woman in the packaging is now in control of the gentlemen. Thumbprint Cellars - One of the few wine tasting room stops represented on the Plaza, was quite busy yesterday. During our first visit we enjoyed their cabernet. We also learned that a pretty vegan plate is available. $30 for a wine tasting menu. Mueller Winery - In business for thirty years, Bob Mueller is known for his blending speciality. Once a Healdsburg tasting room in 1991 and now based in Windsor, their Emily Cuvee is their darling pinot, and affectionately named after Bob's daughter. Pedroncelli Winery - A third generation-family run business

since 1927, and member of the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce since the 1960s, we chatted with family member Julie, whose favorite pick is their Dry Zinfandel Rosé. This wine was poured from long-standing and much loved longstanding bakery since 1923, Costeaux French Bakery, where during the event 25-30 people came in every hour to sip and shop. And of course, holiday cookies are now available here. SHOPPING SMALL Craftwork - Healdsburg's only coworking space has special packages for the holidays. Lucky Heron - At this stop, talented artist and vintner Alice Sutro poured her family's Sutro Wine and we got to learn all about her family's history since 1911 in Healdsburg. Shop owner Michelle Lutz shared that she's again hosting private sip and shop events at her store with a discount for bookings. Her online store is going through a mini makeover and will be live within a few days. Her store is filled plenty holiday gift ideas. Forager - It's hard not to fall in love with this store. It smelled like

Christmas, the holidays, a deep breath into the woods. We recommend just about everything in here, and we're especially drawn to their vintage barware. Plaza Gourmet - Is in a 1,500 square foot kitchen specialty store with over 6,000 items, across the Plaza. Best sellers rights now: Wood cutting boards and salad bowls. Lost of holiday decor and ornaments for the chef in your life. Uniquely Chic & Floral - Is now under new ownership and management with Leah, who has been the florist for 6 years here and has been in the floral industry for 20 years. There's a lot of farm-house, rustic good finds

MEET THE AUTHOR:

Caroline Bontia

Caroline is a local in town and created Shop Local Healdsburg during the early months of the pandemic as a way to learn how to shop local and support local businesses. “It’s truly brought community for me both virtually and in person, and has been such a fun and rewarding experience.” — Caroline instagram.com/shoplocalhealdsburg | shoplocalhealdsburg.com

here and their holiday decor feels right at home. Shopfeitt's - Vintage and handmade treasures with a lot of holiday decor here. We love checking out their outdoor garden vintage of curiosities from iron planters metal horse statues, and plants. VML wines poured here during Sip and Shop (see above). Spa Hotel Healdsburg - We've enjoyed their Healdsburg locals-onlydiscount for appointments booked Monday - Thursday here for 15%. Our favorite pick here is their name-sake custom bath soaps, lotions and hair care. We also love purchasing gift certificates for friends and family.

LETTER FROM OUTGOING BOARD CHAIR, WILL SEPPI On behalf of the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce thank you for your support this past year. As we bring closure to 2021, we welcome the new year with a renewed sense of energy and focus. This past year I have had the privilege of serving as your board chair and working with a very talented and committed volunteer board of directors. Our professional staff lead by Tallia Hart has done exceptional work advancing the business needs of Healdsburg during the most challenging of times. And our business community has met each challenge with great tenacity, a spirit of collaboration and collective resolve. Despite all the challenges, investment in our community is robust. The essence of community radiates through our diverse businesses from accounting to wine making, cars to clothing, pickles to pizza, horticulture to hotels, and so much more, our businesses are the bedrock of Healdsburg. Here in Healdsburg, the future is bright, and opportunities abound. Together we can continue to make a positive and lasting difference for generations to come. William K. Seppi Board Chair 2021

Dovetail I see a bracelet- crafted by a jeweler who was a professional dancer. It curves and turns into a perfect symbiosis. It feels like a part of her soul exists within the dull golds and deep lavenders. In 2003, my husband Steve and I moved up to Healdsburg, CA, in pursuit of a better quality of life. The slower pace, community focus, and amazing food and wine were irresistible. Since we were leaving tech careers behind, my husband casually asked, "so if we move up here, what are we going to do?" I spontaneously replied, "hey, let's open up a fine woodworking gallery," and at that moment, our fate was sealed. All we needed was a name, a great location, 100+ amazing handcraft and fine woodworking artists, and wonderful clients who appreciate quality, artistry and made in the USA. READ MORE >>
