1. OPENING ITEMS
A. Call to Order:
Kianie King called the meeting to order at 10:06 AM

2. REVIEW AND ACCEPT THE AGENDA FOR AUGUST 28, 2025
A. Approve agenda as written
There was a motion made to approve the agenda as written.

There was a motion to move into executive session at 10:08AM

3. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Discussion and possible action regarding choice of legal counsel to represent the District in responding to the EEOC Complaint Filed by Former Superintendent Dr. Jeffery Spaletta. “The Governing Board may vote to convene in executive session, which will not be open to the public, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(4) for discussion or consultation with the District’s Attorney(s) in order to consider the District’s position and instruct its Attorney(s) regarding the District’s position regarding contracts that are the subject of negotiations, in pending or contemplated litigation or in settlement discussions conducted in order to avoid or resolve litigation. The District’s Attorney(s) may appear remotely.”
4. RECONVENE INTO OPEN MEETING
A. Reconvene into open meeting.
There was a motion to reconvene into open meeting at 10:47AM.

B. Discussion and possible action regarding choice of legal counsel to represent the District in responding to the EEOC complaint filed by former Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Spaletta. There was a motion to engage with Cantelme and Brown through a cooperative purchasing agreement contract for the EEOC complaint from Dr. Jeffrey Spaletta and authorize Board President King to sign the engagement letter.
