To the Members of the Chamber Board, Thank you for the opportunity to spend time with you today. I appreciated your questions, your perspectives, and the chance to talk openly about the future of Hilton Head Island. One of the messages I hoped to leave with you is that my 40 years of leadership experience has taught me that strong communities are built through strong relationships. Town government, our business community, residents, nonpro ts, and other community partners will not always agree on every issue—and we shouldn't expect to. But we should be able to sit at the same table, listen to one another, build trust, and work toward solutions that strengthen Hilton Head Island. If I have the opportunity to serve as Mayor, I will bring that approach to the relationship between the Town and the Chamber. I believe my background in business, organizational leadership, and leadership development makes working with our business community a natural part of how I would lead. I also believe we have an opportunity to strengthen public con dence in the relationship between Town government and the Chamber by making that relationship transparent, professional, collaborative, and clearly focused on what is best for the entire Island. Hilton Head has signi cant issues ahead of us—from public safety and the 278 Corridor to responsible growth, economic development, workforce challenges, and protecting the environment and character that make this Island special. Addressing them will require experienced leadership and people willing to work together. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to share my perspective with you. I enjoyed our conversation and look forward to continuing it. Dave Ferguson Candidate for Mayor - Hilton Head Island 704-907-0171
