El año 2020 comenzó a todo tren en las páginas del periódico, justamente, cuando nos encontrábamos recorriendo los pasillos de IFEMA durante la celebración de la última edición de Fitur. Un año más nos desplazamos a Madrid para vivir ‘in situ’ y en directo la gran fiesta del turismo es nuestro país, así como para llevar nuestras publicaciones y transmitir e informar de todo cuánto afecta a la promoción y difusión de nuestra urbanización y su entorno más inmediato. Fuimos testigos de los numerosos y grandilocuentes proyectos que verán la luz en los próximos meses en Sotogrande. Se antoja uno de los periplos más emocionantes de los últimos tiempos para el desarrollo urbanístico e inmobiliario que recordamos, habría que tirar prácticamente una década hacia atrás en la hemeroteca para ver iniciativas tan trascendentales para el porvenir de la comunidad. Los importantes avances que el propio Sotogrande S.A., con la renovación integral del Hotel Almenara, su desarrollo urbanístico en La Reserva y sus nuevas promociones; sólo para abrir boca. Lo mismo ocurre con la importante apuesta de Millennium en Alcaidesa, dos proyectos que harán crecer enormemente la oferta hotelera en la zona, algo que en estos momentos trata de potenciar e impulsar el Hotel Encinar de Sotogrande (conocido comúnmente como Hotel Tenis), tras la llegada de la nueva propiedad hace unos meses. Sector, que de manera sibarita, impulsa cada año el Hotel Club Marítimo de Sotogrande que en apenas unos días retoma nuevamente su actividad para esta temporada. Los eventos deportivos también formaron parte de la atractiva propuesta comarcal en Fitur, a nivel turístico y de promoción al gran público. Eventos como el Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters atraerá a más de cincuenta mil personas en el puente de mayo a Sotogrande; cifra que casi se doblará durante la temporada de verano el Torneo Internacional de Santa María Polo Club, que ahora además refuerza otras ventanas del calendario con la modalidad del Salto, en Santa María Equestrian Club. Oferta hípica que redondea con la Doma Clásica, el siempre elegante Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo. Los nuevos planes de La Zagaleta en la zona, grandes proyectos como el de San Roque Club con la renovación integral de sus instalaciones y del recorrido Old Course; o cualquiera de las nuevas promociones que mes a mes veremos tomar forma en la urbanización dibujan un escaparate de máxima actividad empresarial en la zona. A lo que habría que sumarle la ampliación de instalaciones en el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande. El Sotogrande más auténtico, el que más reconocemos y nos gusta ver: enérgico. generador de empleo, riqueza y prosperidad se encuentra en plena forma y atraviesa un momento de grandes oportunidades. 2020 began in style in the pages of the newspaper, just as we were exploring the aisles of IFEMA during the celebration of the last edition of Fitur. Once again this year we travelled to Madrid to experience the great party of tourism in our country “in situ” and also to bring our publications and convey and inform about everything that affects the promotion and dissemination of our resort and its most immediate environment. We witnessed the many and majestic projects that will get the go ahead over the coming months in Sotogrande. It looks like one of the most exciting periods of recent times for urban and property development that we can remember. It would be necessary to practically go back a decade in the archives to see initiatives that are as important for the future of the community. The important advances of Sotogrande S.A., with the complete refurbishment of Hotel Almenara, its urban development at La Reserva and its new developments; are just an appetiser. The same applies with the important initiative by Millennium in Alcaidesa, two projects that will greatly increase the hotel offer in the area, which at the moment involves boosting and developing Hotel Encinar de Sotogrande (popular known as Tennis Hotel), after the arrival of the new ownership a few months ago. A sector, which in a luxury way, Hotel Club Marítimo de Sotogrande boosts every year, and in just a few days it will once again restart its activity for this season. Sports events also formed part of the appealing provincial proposal at Fitur, in terms of tourism and promotion to the general public. Events such as the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters will attract more than fifty thousand people to Sotogrande during the May bank holiday; a figure that will be almost doubled during the summer season with the International Tournament at Santa María Polo Club, which is now also strengthening other windows of the calendar with Show Jumping at Santa María Equestrian Club. The equestrian offer is rounded off with Classic Dressage, the ever elegant Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo. The new plans of La Zagaleta in the area, major projects such as the one at San Roque Club with the complete refurbishment of its facilities and the Old Course; and any of the new developments that we will see take shape in the resort from month to month offer a showcase of maximum business activity in the area. In addition to this there is the extension of facilities at Sotogrande International School. The most authentic Sotogrande, the one that we most recognise and like to see; energetic, a creator of employment, wealth and prosperity is in great shape and going through a period of great opportunities.
