Crecer con criterio
Abril marca en Sotogrande algo más que el cambio de estación. Con la llegada de la primavera, el destino comienza a recuperar pulso, actividad y movimiento. Vuelven los visitantes, se intensifica la agenda social y deportiva y se activa, de forma progresiva, la maquinaria que sostiene los meses de mayor proyección del año.
Pero abril también invita a una reflexión necesaria: cómo crecer sin perder el equilibrio.
Sotogrande ha construido su prestigio sobre una combinación difícil de replicar: entorno natural cuidado, baja densidad, calidad de vida y una oferta deportiva y residencial de alto nivel. Ese modelo, que ha funcionado durante décadas, no es casual. Es el resultado de decisiones sostenidas en el tiempo, de planificación y de una cultura del detalle que forma parte de su identidad.
Hoy, sin embargo, el contexto es distinto. La demanda crece, el interés internacional se mantiene al alza y la presión sobre el territorio es cada vez más evidente. Within this scenario, the challenge is no longer simply attracting, but rather rigorously managing what comes.
Growing isn’t a problem. Growing with good judgement is. And doing so with insufficient planning ends up having a cost that is first felt in daily life: in mobility, in the experience of residents, in the quality of the area, and in the medium term, on the image of the destination itself.

Sin embargo, este incremento progresivo de actividad también pone sobre la mesa cuestiones que, año tras año, siguen formando parte de la conversación local. Una de ellas es, sin duda, la movilidad. Desplazarse dentro de Sotogrande y su entorno cercano no siempre resulta sencillo fuera del uso del vehículo privado. La conexión entre zonas, la accesibilidad a servicios o la posibilidad de contar con alternativas de transporte más sostenibles son aspectos que afectan tanto a residentes como a quienes nos visitan. A ello se suman situaciones recientes que no hacen sino agravar esta realidad. Por un lado, Torreguadiaro continúa inmerso en obras que se prolongan más de lo deseable, generando dificultades evidentes para el tránsito diario. Barro, retrasos y la falta de espacios peatonales habilitados están afectando tanto a vecinos como a comerciantes, en un contexto en el que el desarrollo urbano debería ir siempre acompañado de soluciones que minimicen su impacto.
Por otro lado, el acceso al Puerto de Sotogrande por la Avenida del Puerto ha reabierto recientemente tras permanecer cerrado desde febrero por un desprendimiento. Su cierre complicó especialmente la movilidad en una de las principales semanas del calendario turístico como fue la Semana Santa. La falta de alternativas y de plazos concretos ha generado incertidumbre y afecta tanto a la operativa como a la imagen del destino. Si el modelo de Sotogrande aspira a ser cada vez más equilibrado y sostenible, quizás sea el momento de avanzar también en este ámbito. No se trata solo de grandes infraestructuras, sino de soluciones prácticas: rutas mejor conectadas, transporte compartido, planificación eficaz de obras y respuestas ágiles ante incidencias. Sotogrande tiene la oportunidad de seguir evolucionando sin perder aquello que lo hace especial. Y en esa evolución, la movilidad, entendida como parte esencial de la calidad de vida, debería ocupar un lugar prioritario.

With the arrival of spring, Sotogrande begins to regain the pace that characterises it during the months of greatest activity. More visitors, more movement, and a schedule that is filling up again. It is undoubtedly good news for the destination as a whole.
However, this progressive increase in activity also puts issues in the table that, year after year, continue to form part of the local conversation. One of them is undoubtedly mobility.
Getting around in Sotogrande and its nearby area isn’t always easy if you’re not using a private vehicle. The connection between areas, accessibility of services and the chance to have more sustainable transport options are aspects that affect both residents and those who visit us. Alongside this, recent situations have only aggravated this reality.
On one hand, Torreguadiaro is still immersed in work that has stretched on for longer than desired, creating clear difficulties for daily movement. Mud, delays, and the lack of pedestrian spaces provided are affecting both residents and business owners, in a context where urban development should always be accompanied by solutions that minimise its impact.
On the other hand, access to Sotogrande Port through Avenida del Puerto has recently reopened after being closed since February due to a landslide. The closure caused significant transportation difficulties during one of the busiest weeks of the tourist season: Holy Week. The lack of alternatives and specific timelines has created uncertainty and is affecting both operations and the destination’s image.
If the Sotogrande model aims to be increasingly balanced and sustainable, it is perhaps time also make progress in this field. It isn’t only about major infrastructure, but rather practical solutions: better connected routes, shared transport, efficient planning of works and agile responses to incidents.
Sotogrande has the chance to continue evolving without losing what makes it special. And in that evolution, mobility, understood as an essential part of quality of life, should occupy a key role.

Su combinación de privacidad, baja densidad urbanística y calidad de vida sigue marcando la diferencia frente a otros enclaves de la Costa del Sol.
Según datos recogidos por el portal inmobiliario idealista, el mercado atraviesa un momento de fuerte dinamismo, con el precio medio de la vivienda situado en 3.712 euros por metro cuadrado, su máximo histórico desde que existen registros en la zona, tras un incremento interanual del 10,8%. Este contexto confirma no solo la solidez del destino, sino también el cambio de escala en el perfil de la demanda.
Un modelo residencial que sostiene el valor
El origen de Sotogrande se remonta a mediados del siglo XX, cuando el empresario filipino Joseph McMicking impulsó un desarrollo inspirado en los gran-
des resorts internacionales.
Desde el inicio, el proyecto apostó por la baja densidad, la integración paisajística y la dis-
creción como ejes centrales.
Hoy, con una población estable cercana a los 10.000 residentes,
que se multiplica en los meses de verano, el enclave mantiene ese posicionamiento diferencial, alejado de los modelos de tu-
rismo masivo y enfocado en un estilo de vida vinculado al deporte, la naturaleza y la exclusividad.
Precios al alza y presión de la demanda internacional
El comportamiento del mercado refleja esa fortaleza. Sotogrande Costa lidera los valores con 3.938 €/m² tras crecer un 15,8% interanual, seguida de Sotogrande Alto (3.849 €/m²) y Torreguadiaro-San Diego (3.820 €/m²). Destaca especialmente el repunte del Puerto de Sotogrande-La Marina, donde los precios han subido un 20,7% hasta los 3.803 €/m². En contraste, zonas como San Enrique-Guadiaro-Pueblo Nuevo se sitúan en niveles más contenidos, en torno a los 2.297 €/m².
En términos de demanda, el mercado sigue dominado por el comprador nacional, que representa el 65% del interés, con Madrid a la cabeza (19,5%), seguida a gran distancia por Sevilla, Barcelona y Málaga. Sin embargo, el componente internacional gana peso de forma sostenida y ya supone el 35% de las visitas, con Reino Unido (23,7%), Alemania (9,8%) y Estados Unidos (8,9%) como principales mercados emisores.
En cuanto a presupuesto, la mayor parte de la demanda se concentra entre los 600.000 euros y los dos millones, aunque el segmento superior mantiene una clara tendencia al alza: un 12,3% de las búsquedas se dirige a viviendas por encima de los dos millones, mientras que el ultra lujo (propiedades de más de 10 millones) representa ya el 0,6%.
La Reserva: epicentro del lujo más exclusivo
Dentro del propio Sotogrande, La Reserva se consolida como uno de los enclaves más selectos. Su oferta residencial, ligada a un entorno natural privilegiado y a servicios como club de campo y golf privado, eleva aún más los estándares del destino.
Aquí, el precio medio supera los 4.400 €/m², mientras que la demanda internacional se incrementa hasta el 39%, con especial peso de compradores procedentes de Reino Unido, Alemania y Estados Unidos. En el ámbito nacional, Madrid continúa liderando el interés.
El perfil de comprador en esta zona es claramente premium: más del 70% de las búsquedas se sitúa por encima del millón
de euros, con especial concentración en el tramo entre los 3 y los 10 millones. Además, un 11,4% de la demanda se dirige a propiedades que superan los 10 millones de euros, confirmando la consolidación de Sotogrande en el segmento más alto del mercado residencial europeo.

Sotogrande is consolidating its position as one of the most exclusive residential destinations in southern Europe, with a property market that is currently expanding and an increasingly prominent presence of international buyers. According to data collected by the property site idealista, the market is experiencing a period of great dynamism, with the average property price at 3,712 Euros per square metre, its all time high since records began in the area, after a year on year increase of 10.8%. This context not only confirms the strength of the destination, but also the change of scale in the profile of demand.
A residential model that sustains value
The origins of Sotogrande date back to the mid 20th century, when the Filipino businessman Joseph McMicking created a de-
velopment inspired by the great international resorts. From the outset, the project committed to low density, integration into the landscape, and discretion as its key pillars.
Today, with a stable population close to 10,000 residents, that multiplies during the summer months, the area maintains that differential position, distanced from mass tourism models and focused on a lifestyle linked to sport, nature, and exclusivity.
Rising prices and pressure of international demand
The market behaviour reflects that strength. Sotogrande Costa ranks top in terms of prices with €3,938/m² after rising 15.8% year on year, followed by Sotogrande Alto (€3,849/m²) and Torreguadiaro-San Diego (€3,820/ m²). The upturn of Sotogrande Port-La Marina particularly stands out, with prices rising by 20.7% to €3,803/m². In contrast, areas such as San Enrique-Guadiaro-Pueblo Nuevo are at more constrained levels, around
€2,297/m².
In terms of demand, the market continues to be dominated by national buyers, who represent 65% of interest, led by Madrid (19.5%), followed a long way behind by Seville, Barcelona, and Malaga. However, the international component is gaining influence in a sustained way and it already accounts for 35% of visits, with the United Kingdom (23.7%), Germany (9.8%) and the United States (8.9%) as the main origin markets.
With regard to budget, most of the demand is concentrated between 600,000 Euros and two million, although the top segment as a clear upward trend: 12.3% of searches are targeted at properties worth over two million, while ultra luxe (properties worth over 100 million) already represents 0.6%.

Hace más de cincuenta años, cuando yo era un joven de izquierdas en Buenos Aires, compartía la teoría, entonces muy popular en mi país natal, según la cual Argentina “dependía” de la agricultura y la ganadería, y que allí radicaban sus dificultades económicas. Hoy recuerdo ese error cuando veo repetida en España la idea de que nuestro problema es que “dependemos” del turismo.
Pero la Argentina no estaba subordinada a los países que importaban su carne y sus cereales: se los vendía libremente en un contexto de economía abierta, que, por cierto, transformó al país en uno de los más prósperos del planeta. A partir de 1930, en cambio, todos los gobiernos argentinos, empezando por los conservadores y siguiendo por los peronistas, pensaron que había que proteger la industria y castigar al sector primario, lo que hicieron durante un siglo, logrando hundir a la Argentina en la decadencia. Estas políticas antiliberales se pusieron bastante de moda, siempre con malos resultados.
En España no estamos dominados por los malvados extranjeros que nos visitan temporalmente, o que incluso se instalan aquí de forma permanente. Todo se hace con libertad, y los españoles aprovechamos las notables ventajas de nuestra naturaleza, nuestro clima y nuestra cultura.
Se dirá que España tiene cifras de turismo récord pero una economía frágil. Es cierto, pero una cosa no está relacionada con la otra. Por ejemplo, si los extranjeros alquilan o compran más viviendas, no son por ello los causantes de su encarecimiento. En condiciones normales de

competencia, el mercado responde con más oferta si aumenta la demanda. En España el precio de la vivienda no sube porque lo haga la demanda, sino porque la intervención política impide que aumente la oferta.
Nuestra fragilidad económica, en cambio, apunta a otra dependencia, esta sí genuina y dañina: la
dependencia del poder político y legislativo. Este poder ha intervenido nuestra economía, provocando toda clase de distorsiones, empezando por el paro y terminando por los impuestos, el gasto y la deuda pública que lastran nuestras perspectivas de crecimiento. Es una dependencia nociva, sin duda, pero de ella el turismo es completamente inocente.
Over fifty years ago, when I was a young left-winger in Buenos Aires, I shared the theory, which was then very popular in my country of birth, that Argentina “depended” on farming and livestock, and that this was the source of its financial problems. I now remember that mistake when I see the idea repeated in Spain that our problem is that “we depend” on tourism. However, Argentina wasn’t subordinated to the countries that imported its meat and cereals: it sold them freely to them within the context of an open economy that, of course, transformed the country into one of the most prosperous in the world. However, from 1930 onwards all the Argentine governments, beginning with the conservatives followed by the Peronists, thought that it
was necessary to protect industry and punish the primary sector, which ended up punishing Argentina for a century, sinking it into decline. These antiliberal policies became quite fashionable, always with poor results.
In Spain, we aren’t dominated by the evil foreigners who visit us on a temporary basis, or who even settle here permanently. Everything is done freely, and Spaniards enjoy the significant benefits of our nature, climate, and culture.
It will be said that Spain has record tourism figures but a fragile economy. That is true, but one thing isn’t related to the other. For example, if foreigners rent or purchase more properties, they aren’t the reason for it becoming more expensive. In normal competitive conditions, the
market responds with greater offer if demand increases. In Spain, property prices don’t rise because demand does, but rather because political intervention prevents the offer from increasing.
On the other hand, our economic fragility points to another dependency, one that is indeed genuine and harmful: dependency on political and legislative power. This power has impacted our economy, causing all kinds of distortions, starting with unemployment and ending with taxes, expenses, and the public debt that hinder our growth prospects.
Undoubtedly, this is a harmful dependency, but tourism is completely innocent in this regard.

• Andalucía se prepara para vivir una de las elecciones más importantes de su historia el próximo 17 de mayo
Redacción: Andalucía lleva varios años intentando posicionarse como una de las regiones más dinámicas de España. Desde que llegó al gobierno, ¿cuál diría que ha sido el mayor cambio que ha experimentado la comunidad?
Juanma Moreno: En su mentalidad. En creerse de verdad todo ese potencial que siempre ha tenido, pero que nunca terminó de exhibir. De estar acomplejada por los tópicos, a ser capaz de liderar. De estar a la cola en la mayoría de indicadores socioeconómicos, a estar a la cabeza. Andalucía era un gigante dormido que hoy ha despertado porque se ha dado cuenta de que es capaz de lograr lo que se proponga. Y eso es gracias a los andaluces, a su tesón y a su esfuerzo.
Con la mirada puesta en las próximas elecciones autonómicas, ¿con qué enfoque afronta su gobierno esta nueva etapa política en Andalucía?
J.M.: Andalucía aspira a consolidarse como una alternativa a todo lo que hay fuera de ella. Una alternativa al ruido, a la tensión política, al enfrentamiento, a ese afán por dividir a la sociedad que se alimenta desde otros ámbitos. Andalucía es todo lo contrario a eso. Ni los andaluces quieren eso, ni desde el Gobierno andaluz creemos que sea la forma de gestionar. Creemos en la moderación, en la sensatez y en una forma de gobernar sin condicionantes ideológicos. Así ha sido estos años, y así nos gustaría seguir. Generando certidumbre, seguridad, aprobando anualmente el presupuesto autonómico. Ese contexto es el que luego se traduce en progreso, en una economía que crece, en más exportaciones y en proyectos empresariales que quieren dejar en Andalucía grandes inversiones y miles de empleos.
En otras comunidades autónomas donde recientemente se han celebrado elecciones, como Extremadura o Aragón, Vox ha ganado un peso político significativo ¿Cómo cree que puede influir esta tendencia en el panorama político andaluz?
J.M.: Los ciudadanos quieren gobiernos que gobiernen y
partidos leales al interés general: que no bloqueen. Lo acabamos de ver en Castilla y León: los ciudadanos penalizan a los que bloquean. Les dicen que, por ahí, no. Y premian el liderazgo que es serio, coherente, fiable. Aquí, en Andalucía, nos reafirmamos en lo que creemos: moderación, seriedad, tranquilidad y cercanía con los ciudadanos. Esa es la opción
que eligieron los andaluces en las últimas elecciones autonómicas, y aspiramos a que vuelvan a confiar en esa receta porque a Andalucía le está sentando francamente bien.
Tras las borrascas, la Junta de Andalucía ha aprobado un plan cercano a los 294 millones de euros para reparar los daños provocados por el
temporal en carreteras e infraestructuras ¿Cuándo comenzarán a ejecutarse estas actuaciones y qué zonas serán prioritarias?
J.M.: No solo es que ya se hayan iniciado esas reparaciones: es que están ya todas en marcha. El cien por cien. Y el 30 por ciento de ellas habrán concluido en cuatro meses. Se van a realizar en torno a 40 contratos de emergencia para carreteras. La previsión es que en abril se liciten los nuevos contratos de asfaltado (250 millones), y que los ya licitados a principios de año (151 millones) empiecen a ejecutarse en mayo. Una de las obras más importantes, debido al daño sufrido por la vía, será la de la autovía Jerez-Sanlúcar, donde se ha planificado una actuación muy profunda. En ella vamos a invertir más de 25 millones porque su afectación por el temporal es muy significativa. Estamos actuando, y con máxima inmediatez.

¿Qué proyectos o inversiones tiene previstos la Junta de Andalucía para mejorar infraestructuras, movilidad y conexiones en el Campo de Gibraltar?
J.M.: La cartera de iniciativas y proyectos que venimos impulsando desde el Gobierno andaluz en los últimos años es muy extensa, y afecta a todos los ámbitos. Por citar algunos, podríamos destacar el proyecto del Área Logística de San Roque (18 millones de inversión), la Ciudad de la Justicia de Algeciras (22 millones), el Centro de Formación Punta Europa en Algeciras (1,6), una nueva residencia para mayores en
San Roque (1,8) o, por citar el más reciente, la adjudicación por más de medio millón de euros (563.946) de la redacción del estudio informativo y el anteproyecto de un Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), con el que buscamos la implantación de un autobús eléctrico que promueva la movilidad sostenible en el arco de la Bahía de Algeciras.
Sotogrande se ha consolidado como uno de los destinos residenciales, deportivos y turísticos más exclusivos de Europa. Desde la perspectiva del Gobierno andaluz, ¿qué papel juega este enclave en la proyección internacional de Andalucía como lugar para invertir, vivir y visitar?

J.M.: Hoy todo el mundo quiere venir a Andalucía. Por su oferta turística, por el clima, por la calidez de su gente. Y sin duda también por la calidad de vida que ofrece la provincia de Cádiz, y en particular lugares como Sotogrande, un enclave espectacular que además cuenta con grandes reclamos internacionales como el
polo, una disciplina deportiva con una marcada proyección mundial. No es de extrañar, pues, el desarrollo que ha experimentado todo este entorno en los últimos años y el número de visitantes, tanto nacionales como extranjeros, que vienen hasta esta zona de Andalucía durante todo el año.
• Andalusia is preparing for one of the most important elections in its history on May 17.
Editorial: For several years Andalusia has been trying to position itself as one of the most dynamic regions in Spain. Since entering government, what would you say is the biggest change that the community has undergone?
Juanma Moreno: In its mentality. In truly believing in all that potential that it has always had, but that it has never fully shown. It has gone from having a complex about the clichés to being able to lead. From lagging behind in most socioeconomic indicators, to leading them. Andalusia was a sleeping giant that has awoken because it has realised that it is able to achieve what it sets out to do. And that is thanks to the Andalusians, their tenacity and their effort.
Looking ahead to the upcoming regional elections, what approach is your government taking for this political era in Andalusia?
J.M.: Andalusia is aiming to establish itself as an alternative to everything outside of it. An alternative to noise, political tension, confrontation, the desire to divide a society that feeds off other areas. Andalusia is the complete opposite to that. The Andalusians do not want that, nor does the Andalusian Government believe that it is the way to manage. We believe in moderation, in common sense, and in a form of governing without ideological constraints. This has been the case over these years, and this is how we would like to continue. Creating certainty, security, approving the regional budget each year. This context is what then results in progress, in a growing economy, in more exports, and in business projects that want to leave major investments and thousands of jobs in Andalusia.
In other regional communities where elections have recently taken place, such as Extremadura and Aragón, Vox has gained a significant political influence. How do you think this trend can influence the Andalusian political scene?
J.M.: Citizens want governments that govern and parties that are loyal to the general interest: they should not obstruct. We have just seen it in Castile and León: citizens punish those who obstruct. They tell them no, that isn’t the way. And they reward leadership that is serious, consistent, reliable. Here, in Andalusia, we are reaffirming what we believe: moderation, seriousness, peace of mind, and closeness to citizens. That is the option chosen by Andalusians at the last regional elections, and we hope that they once again place their trust in that formula because it is working out really well for Andalusia.

Following the storms, the Regional Government of Andalusia has approved a plan for around 294 million Euros to repair the damage caused by the storm to roads and infrastructure. When will these actions begin to be implemented and which areas will be prioritised?
J.M.: Not only have the repairs started: the fact is that they are all underway. One hundred percent. And 30 percent of them will have finished in four months. Around 40 emergency contracts will be created for roads. The forecast is that the new paving contracts will be put out for tender in April (250 million), and those already put out for tender at the start of the year (151 million) should begin to be implemented in May. One of the most important works, due to the damage suffered on the road, will be the Jerez-Sanlúcar motorway, where a very extensive action has been planned. We are going to invest more than 25 million in it because it has been very significantly affected by the storm. We are acting with utmost urgency.
What projects or investments has the Government of Andalusia planned to improve infrastructure, mobility, and connections in Campo de Gibraltar?
J.M.: The portfolio of initiatives and projects that the Andalusian Government has been promoting in recent years is very extensive and affects all areas.
To mention a few, we could highlight the project of the Logistical Area of San Roque (18 million investment), the City of Justice of Algeciras (22 million), the Punta Europa Training Centre in Algeciras (1.6), a new home for elderly people in San Roque (1.8) or, to mention the most recent one, the awarding for more than half a million Eu-
ros (563,946) to draft the informative study and the preliminary design of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), with which we are aiming to implement an electric bus that promotes sustainable mobility in the arc of the Bay of Algeciras.
Sotogrande has established itself as one of the most exclusive
residential, sporting, and tourism destinations in Europe. From the perspective of the Andalusian Government, what role does this area play in the international projection of Andalusia as a place to invest in, live in, and visit?
J.M.: Today, everyone wants to come to Andalusia. Thanks to its tourism offer, the climate, and the warmth of its people. And undoubtedly also thanks to
the quality of life that the province of Cádiz offers, and in particular places like Sotogrande, a spectacular setting that also has great international attractions like polo, a sporting discipline with a notable global projection. So, the development that this area has undergone in recent years and the number of visitors, both national and foreign, who come to this area of Andalusia all year isn’t surprising.

Redacción: Carlos, con más de 20 años en el sector sois un ejemplo de crecimiento y conocimiento en el sector inmobiliario de Sotogrande ¿cuéntanos cómo se hace para seguir la curva de crecimiento durante más de dos décadas?
Carlos Trujillo: No hay una formula clave. Sotogrande en los últimos años ha pasado de ser una zona vacacional a convertirse en un destino de primera vivienda.

La cita, organizada por la Red de Bibliotecas y coordinada por la concejal Rocío Fernández, puso el broche final el pasado domingo 19 de abril tras varios días de programación cultural en la Alameda Alfonso XI.
A lo largo de la feria se desarrolló una amplia propuesta para todos los públicos, con cuentacuentos, talleres infantiles y actividades para adultos. Entre los momentos destacados figuró la Cita Lorquiana, que combinó poesía y música, además de un concierto a cargo de Honey River Jazz Band. La programación incluyó también varias sesiones de firmas

La Delegación de Obras y Servicios sigue avanzando en su plan de mejora del acerado en distintos puntos del municipio. En esta ocasión, los trabajos se están llevando a cabo en la calle Aguas Marinas, situada en la barriada de Guadiaro. La teniente de alcalde delegada del área, Belén Jiménez, ha visitado una de las 78 actuaciones que actualmente se ejecutan desde su departamento. En concreto, se trata de la reparación y renovación del acerado en esta vía, ubicada en las proximidades de la conocida calle Nueva.
Según explicó la edil, las obras han comenzado desde el inicio de la calle y continuarán en dirección a la zona de los antiguos pisos, para posteriormente descender. “Vamos a estar bastante tiempo, porque hay zonas que rehabilitar ya que el acerado está en muy malas condiciones. También hay que cumplir la normativa vigente en cuanto a eliminación de barreras arquitectónicas”, señaló. Asimismo, Jiménez subrayó que desde la Delegación de Obras y Servicios, a través del Departamento de Infraestructuras y Obras, se pretende “dar respuesta a las demandas de los vecinos y las vecinas, ya que al final hay que gestionar unas partidas presupuestarias que se financian con los impuestos que pagamos entre todos”
Progress on revamping of pavement on Calle Aguas Marinas de Guadiaro
The Department of Works and Services continues to make progress on its plan to improve paving in different areas of the municipality. On this occasion, the work is being carried out on Calle Aguas Marinas, located in the neighbourhood of Guadiaro.
The deputy mayor Belén Jiménez visited one of the 78 points where her department is carrying out work. Specifically, on this road located in the vicinity of Calle Nueva, the work to repair and revamp paving.
According to the councillor, the work started at one end of the street and will continue towards the area of the old flats, before subsequently going down. “We will be here for quite a while because there are areas to revamp as the paving is in very poor condition. It is also necessary to comply with current regulations in terms of removing architectural barriers”, she stated..
Likewise, Jiménez highlighted that the local Department of Works and Services, through the Department of Infrastructures and Works, aims to “respond to the demands of residents, as ultimately it is necessary to manage budget items that are funded with the taxes that we all pay.”

Una vivienda con una parcela de más de 10.000 m² y cuenta con cerca de 4.000

El otro día pensaba en algo curioso. Muchas personas, cuando rezan o simplemente cuando le piden algo a la vida, suelen pedir siempre más o menos lo mismo: salud, dinero, amor, tranquilidad, éxito… En definitiva, una vida mejor.
Pero con los años me he dado cuenta de que la vida rara vez te entrega directamente aquello que le pides. Más bien hace otra cosa.
Te pone delante la oportunidad de construirlo. Si pides más dinero, probablemente no aparezca una maleta llena de billetes en tu puerta. Lo que aparecerá será un reto profesional, una dificultad, una oportunidad disfrazada de esfuerzo o una situación que te obligue a crecer.
Si pides salud, no suele llegarte mágicamente. Lo que
aparece es la necesidad de cambiar hábitos, de cuidarte, de disciplinarte, de empezar a hacer aquello que llevas tiempo posponiendo.
Si pides amor, muchas veces antes llega el aprendizaje, la decepción o incluso la soledad necesaria para que madures y te conviertas en alguien preparado para construir una buena relación.
Y creo que ahí está una de las grandes lecciones de la vida: muchas veces no nos da lo que queremos, sino el camino para conseguirlo.
Como decía Séneca: “Ninguna cosa grande se crea de repente.”
Quizá por eso muchas veces confundimos las pruebas con castigos, cuando en realidad son entrenamiento. Confundimos los obstáculos con mala suerte, cuando quizá son precisamente la respuesta que estábamos buscando.
Porque tal vez la vida sí te está escuchando. Solo que, en lugar de darte el premio, te está dando la oportunidad de merecerlo.
El problema es que vivimos en un mundo donde queremos resultados inmediatos. Lo queremos todo rápido, fácil y sin demasiado esfuerzo. Nos cuesta aceptar que casi todo lo verdaderamente valioso requiere tiempo, disciplina y paciencia.

The other day I was thinking about something intriguing. Many people, when they pray or simply when they ask for something from life, they tend to normally ask for the same things more or less: health, money, love, peace of mind, success...Ultimately, a better life.
However, over the years I have realised that life rarely directly gives you what you ask for.
It does something else instead.
It presents you with the chance to build it.
If you ask for more money, a suitcase full of banknotes is unlikely to turn up on your doorstep. What will appear will be a professional challenge, a difficulty, an opportunity disguised as effort or a situation that forces you to grow.
If you ask for health, it doesn’t tend to magically arrive. What does appear is the need to change habits, to look after
yourself, to have discipline, to begin doing what you have been putting off.
If you ask for love, often what comes first is learning, disappointment, or even the solitude needed for you to mature and become someone who is ready to build a good relationship.
And I believe that is one of the great lessons of life: it often doesn’t give us what we want, but rather the pathway to achieving it.
The problem is that we live in a world where we want immediate results. We want everything quickly, easily, and without too much effort. We find it hard to accept that almost everything worthwhile requires time, discipline, and patience.
As Seneca said: “Nothing great is created suddenly.”

• El Ayuntamiento habilita 40 nuevos estacionamientos junto a Las Adelfas para dar respuesta a la demanda vecinal.
La Delegación de Obras y Servicios está ejecutando actualmente los trabajos para la creación de una nueva bolsa de aparcamientos en la barriada de Guadiaro, una actuación destinada a mejorar la disponibilidad de estacionamiento en una zona con alta densidad de población. La teniente de alcalde responsable del área, Belén Jiménez, ha visitado las obras junto a un técnico municipal en el espacio ubicado junto a la urbanización Las Adelfas. En este enclave se está acondicionando un terreno hasta ahora infrautilizado para habilitar aproximadamente 40 nuevas plazas de aparcamiento.
Según explicó la edil, esta intervención responde a una demanda reiterada de los vecinos, quienes venían reclamando más espacios para estacionar sus vehículos en una zona con creciente necesidad.
Jiménez subrayó que desde el Ayuntamiento se continúa trabajando para atender las peticiones ciudadanas, destacando que esta actuación no solo beneficiará a los residentes, sino también a los usuarios del parque infantil cercano, mejorando así la funcionalidad y accesibilidad del entorno.
New parking area in Guadiaro to alleviate lack of spaces
The Department of Works and Services is currently carrying out works to create a new parking area in the Guadiaro neighbourhood, an action that is aimed at improving the availability of parking in an area with a high population density.
The delegate in charge of the area, Belén Jiménez, visited the works alongside a municipal technician in the space located next to Las Adelfas resort. A plot is being prepared in this area, which until now was underused, in order to provide approximately 40 new parking spaces.
As the councillor explained, this intervention is a response to a repeated demand from residents, who had been calling for more parking spaces for their vehicles in an area with a growing need.
Jiménez highlighted that the Council continues to work to handle the requests of citizens, highlighting that this action will not only benefit residents, but also users of the nearby children’s park, thus improving functionality and accessibility in the area.

El alcalde de San Roque (Cádiz), Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, ha solicitado a la Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Algeciras (APBA) y a la Dirección General de Costas actuaciones urgentes para la regeneración de varias playas del municipio, especialmente en la Bahía y en Sotogrande, ante la pérdida de arena registrada en los últimos años.
Ruiz Boix ha mostrado su preocupación por el estado del litoral sanroqueño de cara a la próxima temporada estival, señalando el deterioro de la franja de arena en distintos puntos de la costa. En este sentido, ha pedido a la APBA que supervise la situación y aporte los rellenos necesarios en las playas de Guadarran-
que, Puente Mayorga y Campamento, incluidas en su ámbito de actuación.
Del mismo modo, ha instado a la Dirección General de Costas del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica a aprovechar los excedentes de arena procedentes de la desembocadura del río Guadiaro para la regeneración del litoral de Sotogrande.
El alcalde ha subrayado la importancia de mantener las playas en condiciones óptimas, al considerar que su buen estado es clave para impulsar la actividad turística y la generación de empleo en el sector servicios durante el verano. Según ha explicado, la zona de la Bahía de Algeciras ha sufrido una pérdida progre-
siva de arena en los últimos años, una situación que se ha visto agravada durante el pasado invierno a causa de los temporales registrados en enero y febrero.
Objetivo: playas listas para el verano
En relación con las playas de la Bahía, Ruiz Boix ha insistido en que la APBA debe actuar con vigilancia y garantizar los aportes necesarios para conservar en buen estado los arenales urbanos de Guadarranque, Puente Mayorga y Campamento, muy frecuentados durante la época estival. Respecto a Sotogrande, ha señalado la necesidad de mantener un seguimiento continuo ante la evolución de la desembocadura del
río Guadiaro, que aunque ha sido ampliada por los temporales, sigue requiriendo atención. Ha indicado además que en la zona existe material suficiente para llevar a cabo aportes que permitan el uso recreativo de la playa y refuercen la seguri-
dad de las viviendas cercanas. Por último, el alcalde ha solicitado que estas actuaciones se ejecuten antes del final del mes de mayo, con el objetivo de que estén finalizadas antes del inicio de la temporada de baño.

The mayor of San Roque (Cadiz), Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, has called on the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA) and the General Directorate of Coasts to take urgent action to regenerate several beaches in the municipality, especially in the Bay and in Sotogrande, faced with the loss of sand recorded in recent years.
Ruiz Boix outlined his concern at the state of the San Roque coastline ahead of the summer season, pointing to damage to the strip of sand in different points of the coast. In this regard, he called on the APBA to supervise the situation and provide the necessary fillings on the beaches of Guadarranque, Puente Mayorga and Campamento, included in its scope of action.
Likewise, he urged the General Directorate of Coasts of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition to harness the surplus sand from the mouth of the Guadiaro River to regenerate the Sotogrande coastline.
The mayor highlighted the importance of keeping the beaches in optimal condition, believing that its good condition is essential to drive tourism activity and generate employment in the services sector during summer.
As he explained, the Bay of Algeciras area has suffered a progressive loss of sand over recent years, a situation that worsened last winter due to the storms recorded in January and February.
Objective: beaches ready for summer
With regard to the beaches of the Bay, Ruiz Boix insisted that the APBA needs to act with monitoring and ensure the necessary contributions to keep the urban sand dunes of Guadarranque, Puente Mayorga and Campamento in good condition, these areas are very busy during the summer season.
With regard to Sotogrande, he noted the need to have ongoing monitoring of the progress of the mouth of the Guadiaro Ri-
ver, which although broadened due to the storms, still requires attention. He also indicated that there is sufficient material
in the area to carry out loads of sand that enable the recreational use of the beach and strengthen the safety of nearby hou-
ses.
Lastly, the mayor requested that these actions should be carried out before the end of May, with the aim of them being completed before the start of the bathing season.

La autopista de la Costa del Sol, que conecta Málaga con Guadiaro, junto a la AP-46 de Las Pedrizas, ha cerrado 2025 con cifras récord de tráfico, superando con claridad los niveles registrados antes de la pandemia.
El corredor de la Costa del Sol se sitúa ya como la autopista de peaje con mayor volumen de vehículos de todo el país, mientras que la AP-46 continúa su tendencia ascendente con incrementos de tráfico de dos dígitos.
Los datos oficiales del Ministerio de Transportes reflejan la fortaleza de ambas infraestructuras, que se mantienen como activos muy rentables dentro de los fondos internacionales que gestionan sus concesiones.
En el caso de la AP-7 entre Málaga y Guadiaro, la intensidad media diaria en 2025 se ha situado en 40.682 vehículos, lo que supone un aumento del 3,9% respecto al ejercicio anterior.
Este registro la coloca por encima del resto de autopistas de peaje del país, superando a la AP-6 entre Villalba y Adanero (31.654 vehículos diarios), la AP-9 del Atlántico (27.839) y la AP-68 que conecta Álava, Burgos y Zaragoza (13.698), entre otras vías.
Evolución desde 2020
La recuperación del tráfico tras la pandemia ha sido constante y pronunciada. Desde el mínimo de 2020, cuando la media cayó a 21.663 vehículos diarios, la circulación ha ido aumentando de forma progresiva: 28.338 en 2021, 34.257 en 2022, 36.940 en 2023 y 39.158 en 2024, hasta alcanzar el máximo histórico en 2025.
Si se compara con los niveles de 2019, cuando se registraban 33.859 vehículos diarios, el incremento acumulado ronda el 20%, lo que confirma la consolidación de este eje viario como uno de los más transitados de España.

The Costa del Sol corridor is now the toll motorway with the greatest volume of vehicles in the entire country, while the
AP-46 continues its upward momentum with a two digit increase in traffic.
The official data from the Ministry of Transport reflected the strength of both infrastructures, which are very profitable assets within the international funds that manage their concessions.
In the case of the AP-7 between Málaga and Guadiaro, the average daily intensity in 2025 was 40,682 vehicles, which is an increase of 3.9% compared to the previous year.
This figure places it above the country’s other toll motorways, surpassing the AP-6 between Villalba and Adanero (31,654 vehicles a day), the AP-9 of the Atlantic (27,839) and the AP68 which connects Álava, Bur-

Trend since 2020

• El Centro Médico Quirónsalud Algeciras incorpora un sistema de última generación que detalla el funcionamiento del sistema vestibular y permite atajar inestabilidades en una única consulta monográfica.
Los problemas de inestabilidad, mareos y vértigos pueden limitar tremendamente la vida diaria y a menudo tienen difícil explicación médica. Normalmente, los pacientes suelen descartar posibles lesiones cervicales antes de acudir al otorrinolaringólogo
El Dr. Diego Rodríguez Contreras, especialista de la Unidad de Otorrinolaringología del Centro Médico Quirónsalud Algeciras, adscrito al Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, señala que el oído, además de cumplir su función auditiva, “es el principal núcleo de control de la estabilidad corporal”. El facultativo recuerda que nuestro oído interno consta de dos partes: “Una es la parte meramente auditiva, pero luego está la parte vestibular, con una serie de receptores que envían señales al cerebro y que controlan mediante unos actos reflejos complejos con movimientos oculares”. En base a cómo sean estos movimientos, sabremos si estamos o no ante una posible patología que afecte a nuestro equilibrio o estabilidad.
El Centro Médico Quirónsalud Algeciras acaba de poner en marcha en su Unidad de Otorrinolaringología una consulta monográfica en la que tratar problemas de inestabilidad, mareos y vértigos. Para ello cuenta con un sistema de última generación denominado V-Hit (siglas en inglés de Vídeo Head Impulse Test o Test de Impulso Encefálico guiado por Vídeo), siendo el único centro, tanto público como privado del Campo de Gibraltar, que pone esta tecnología
al alcance del paciente.
”Mediante esta prueba diagnóstica otoneurológica podemos evaluar, de forma rápida y no invasiva, el funcionamiento de los canales semicirculares del oído interno (sistema vestibular)”, indica el Dr. Rodríguez Contreras, que explica que mediante unas gafas con cámaras de alta velocidad puede registrar el reflejo vestíbulo-ocular (VOR) du-
rante movimientos rápidos de cabeza, siendo clave para diagnosticar mareos, vértigos y desequilibrios
Durante esta prueba, que dura menos de 10 minutos, el paciente se sienta y mira hacia un punto fijo mientras el facultativo realiza movimientos cefálicos rápidos y aleatorios hacia la derecha o izquierda. Las gafas con cámara registran el movimiento de los ojos y un gi-
roscopio mide la velocidad de la cabeza, calculando la ganancia -relación entre el movimiento ocular y cefálico-.
El doctor Rodríguez explica que este sistema “nos da las nociones sobre cómo está funcionando el sistema vestibular. Detectamos los movimientos oculares reflejos, tanto si son normales como si son patológicos, y ello nos da una serie de gráficas y datos que explican que haya pacientes con cuadros de inestabilidad, de vértigo repetitivos, de sensaciones que en su día a día se ven alterados. Nos da, en definitiva, la opción de ver este fenómeno mucho más que en una consulta normal y de ahí sacar un tratamiento mucho más efectivo”, señala el otorrinolaringólogo del Centro Médico Quirónsalud Algeciras. “En definitiva, nos permite hacer un estudio integral del sistema vestibular, desde los reflejos más básicos hasta la audición, y, por supuesto, el reflejo ventrículo-motor”.
La prueba permite detectar patologías como hipofunción vestibular unilateral o bilateral -neuritis vestibular, enfermedad de Menière-, así como diferenciar vértigos periféricos de los centrales En términos normales, la ganancia suele situarse entre 0,8 y 1,2 para canales laterales. En el caso de que el ojo no siga el movimiento de la cabeza, se observan “sacadas” (movimientos correctivos) en el registro.

Dr. Diego Rodríguez Contreras, specialist at the Otorhinolaryngology Unit of the Quirónsalud Algeciras Medical Centre, part of the Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar, states that the ear, in addition to fulfilling its hearing function, “is the main control hub for bodily stability”. The doctor reminds us that our inner ear has two parts: “One is merely the hearing part, but then there is the vestibular part, with a series of receptors that send signals to the brain and which are controlled using complex reflexes with eye movements.” Based on what these movements are like, we will know if we are dealing with a possible pathology or not that affects our balance or stability.
The Quirónsalud Algeciras Medical Centre has just launched, at its Otorhinolaryngology Unit, a specialist consultation for dealing with problems relating to instability, dizziness and vertigo. To this end, it has a cutting-edge system named V-Hit (Video Head Impulse Test), and it is the only centre, either public or private in Campo de Gibraltar that offers this technology to patients.
“Using this neurotology diagnosis test we can assess, in a quick and non-invasive way, the functioning of the semicircular canals of the inner ear (vestibular system)” notes Dr. Rodríguez Contreras, who explains that glasses with high speed cameras can be used to record the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) during quick head movements, which is crucial to diagnose dizziness, vertigo and imbalances. During this test, which takes less than 10 minutes, the patient sits and looks at a fixed point while the doctor makes quick and random head movements to the right or left. The glasses with a camera record eye movement and a gyroscope measures head speed, calculating the gain -relationship between eye and head movement-.
The doctor Rodríguez explains that this system “provides an understanding of how the vestibular system is working. We detect reflex eye movements, both normal ones and possible pathological ones, and that gives us a series of graphs and figures that explain that there may be patients with instability, repetitive vertigo, and sensations that are disturbed in their daily lives. Ultimately, it gives us the option to see this phenomenon much more than in a normal consultation and from there to get a much more effective treatment” states the otorhinolaryngologist from the Quirónsalud Algeciras Medical Centre. “Ultimately it enables us to carry out a com-
plete study of the vestibular system, from the most basic reflexes to hearing, and, of course, the vestibulomotor reflex.”
The test makes it possible to detect pathologies such as unilateral or bilateral vestibular hypofunction -vestibular neuritis, Ménière’s disease- and to also
distinguish peripheral vertigo from central vertigo.
In normal terms, the gain is normally between 0.8 and 1.2 for side channels. If the eye doesn’t follow the head movement, “saccades” (corrective movements) are observed in the record. Having identified the problem
behind the instability, dizziness, or vertigo, “if there is a pathology that can be treated there and then, an attempt will be made to treat it. Otherwise, monitoring and checks will be carried out and, if rehabilitation is necessary, there are many instability situations where the final
treatment is vestibular rehabilitation. Rehabilitation will be carried out on the other related systems, and if not, the most effective treatment will be sought, but with the data to hand, which is what this technique provides”, highlights Doctor Rodríguez.
Aquí van unos movimientos estratégicos que puedes aplicar a cualquier situación:
1. Frena la interpretación automática
Ante un conflicto, cuando surja una fricción y casi todo el mundo corra a elegir bando, culpable y consigna, haz algo más útil: separa hechos de interpretaciones.
Y si alguien te dice que “te resistes al cambio”, pregúntate: ¿Efectivamente me resisto o tal vez el cambio está mal explicado?
Es como cuando alguien no responde a un mensaje importante. Lo habitual es interpretarlo como desinterés, sin embargo, también es probable que sea saturación o mala gestión del tiempo. Tu enfoque cambia según el diagnóstico.
2. Detecta qué necesidad está defendiendo el otro
Detrás de muchas posturas rígidas no hay intención beligerante, sino simplemente miedo, necesidad de control, estatus o simple agotamiento. Imagina a esa persona que interrumpe constantemente en una reunión no por imponer, sino simplemente por inseguridad y por no quedar invisible.
Demasiadas veces no se pelea por la decisión más sostenible y
saludable, sino por quién queda simbólicamente como vencedor. Si se pierde esto de vista, la conversación se llena de argumentos brillantes y soluciones inútiles.
3. Rebaja ego sin rebajar criterio
¿Cuántos acuerdos valiosos se pierden por defender a fuego la última palabra? Vemos personas que endurecen su posición en público por no retroceder y ser percibidas como débiles cuando, en realidad, una gestión inteligente del lenguaje puede permite ajustar sin perder legitimidad.
Defender una idea con firmeza no exige cerrarse a mejorarla. A veces, una pequeña concesión en la forma abre mucho en el fondo. Aquel que sabe cuándo reírse un poco de sí mismo, puede tomar ventaja natural aquí. No por banalizar, sino por no convertir cada discrepancia en una cuestión de honor y un lastre.
4. Diseña una salida elegante
Ser considerado, funciona.

Here are some strategic movements that you can apply to any situation:
1. Stop automatic interpretation
Faced with a conflict, when friction arises and almost everyone rushes to pick a side, the guilty party and victim, do something more useful: separate the facts from interpretations. And if someone tells you that “you resist change”, ask yourself: Do I indeed resist it or perhaps the change is badly explained?
It is like when somebody doesn’t respond to an important message. The standard thing is to interpret it as a lack of interest, however, it is also likely that it is saturation or poor time management. Your approach changes according to the diagnosis.
2. Detect what need the other person is asserting
Behind many rigid stances there isn’t a belligerent intention, but simply fear, the need for control, status, or mere exhaustion. Imagine that person who constantly speaks out in a meeting, not to impose themselves, but merely due to insecurity or to not remain invisible.
Too often, the battle isn’t for the most sustainable and healthiest decision, but rather for who is symbolically the winner. If people lose sight of this, the conversation is filled with brilliant arguments and useless solutions.
3. Lower your ego without lowering your judgement
How many valuable agreements
are lost by fiercely defending the last word? We see people who toughen their position in public in order to not retreat and be perceived as weak when, in reality, smart management of language can enable adjustments without losing legitimacy. Firmly defending an idea doesn’t make it necessary to close yourself off to improving it. Sometimes, a small concession in the style opens up a lot in terms of the substance. People who know when to laugh at themselves a little, can get a natural advantage here. Not to trivialise, but rather in order to not turn every disagreement into a matter of honour and a burden.
4. Design an elegant way out
Be considerate, it works. How many agreements fail because one of the parties feels that conceding is equivalent to losing? Mediator leadership seeks to build a smart way out, and for someone to be able to change their position without this meaning they lose the battle. This is how to have dialogue and build solutions.
A “you were right” can hinder more than it helps. On the other hand, a “with what we know now, we can make adjustments” opens up space. It is a matter of being coherent with your own interests. “Rectifying” isn’t the same as “making adjustments based on new information.” The second formula enables movement without burnout.
At a time spinning fast with information and defensive reflexes, true leadership is about understanding better in order to transform with responsible boldness.

La asociación Bandera Rosa celebrará su 4º Marcha Solidaria, que tendrá lugar el próximo 25 de abril en Secadero. El evento tiene como objetivo principal la recaudación de fondos para mantener los programas de ayuda directa a mujeres diagnosticadas de cáncer de mama y ofrecer acompañamiento a sus familiares.

The spokeswoman for Bandera Rosa, Pepi Herrera, highlighted the importance of this event by inviting all the residents from the municipality and surrounding area to enjoy a day where all the

• San Roque cuenta ya con su tercer centro de ocio municipal dirigido a adolescentes de entre 12 y 17 años.
El Ayuntamiento de San Roque ha puesto en marcha un nuevo espacio destinado al ocio juvenil con la apertura de Bahía-Contigo, ubicado en el Edificio La Rosaleda, en la barriada de Campamento.
Este recurso municipal está dirigido a jóvenes de entre 12 y 17 años y se suma a las iniciativas ya consolidadas en el municipio, como Suma-T y La Tribu, que actualmente reúnen a cerca de 400 participantes en distintas zonas del término municipal.
En esta primera etapa, coincidiendo con el calendario escolar, Bahía-Contigo abrirá de lunes a viernes en horario de 16:00 a 20:00 horas. El centro dispone de salas en la planta superior del edificio, así como de zonas exteriores acondicionadas para actividades deportivas, juegos y el mantenimiento del huerto.
Estos espacios municipales están concebidos para pro-
mover alternativas de ocio saludable entre jóvenes, mediante talleres, dinámicas de grupo y propuestas tanto en interior como al aire libre. Durante los periodos vacacionales, además, se organizan salidas y excursiones. Todo ello bajo la supervisión de monitores cualificados, incluyendo también iniciativas formativas centradas en la educación emocional y el uso responsable de la tecnología.
“No es un sitio más del Ayuntamiento”

Bahía-Contigo, new meeting place for young people in La Rosaleda Building
The Council of San Roque has launched a new youth leisure space with the opening of Bahía-Contigo, in La Rosaleda Building, in the neighbourhood of Campamento. This municipal resource is aimed at young people aged 12 to 17 and joins well-established initiatives in the municipality, such as Suma-T and La Tribu, which currently bring together around 400 participants in different areas of the municipality.
During this initial stage, coinciding with the school schedule, Bahía-Contigo will open Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 20:00. The centre has rooms on the upper floor of the building, as well as outside areas provided for sports activities, games, and maintenance of the vegetable garden.
These municipal spaces are designed to promote healthy leisure alternatives among young people, through workshops, group dynamics and proposals both indoors and outdoors. Ou-
tings and excursions are also organised during holiday periods. All under the supervision of trained supervisors, also including training initiatives focused on emotional education and the responsible use of technology.
“It isn’t merely another Council site”
The opening event, held on 10 April was attended by the councillor for Social Affairs, Eva Gil; the deputy mayor of the Arc of the Bay area, David Ramos; the councillor for Civic Participation, Rocío Fernández; and the president of the Alternatives Coordinator, Francisco Mena. With this opening, the adolescents of Campamento, Puente Mayorga and Guadarranque now have an area devised to share free time, participate in activities and socialise in a safe space.
During her speech, Eva Gil highlighted that this “isn’t merely another Council site” but rather

Ocio saludable
Por su parte, David Ramos recordó la evolución de este tipo de iniciativas en el municipio, desde la puesta en marcha de “La Tribu” en San Roque Ciudad hasta la creación de Suma-T en el Valle del Guadiaro el pasado año. Agradeció la implicación de la Delegación de Asuntos Sociales y destacó que la gestión del nuevo centro correrá a cargo de la Coordinadora Alternativas. Asimismo, pidió a los jóvenes que hagan un uso responsable del edificio, que comparten con otros servicios como la Bi-
blioteca de Campamento, dependencias municipales y actividades para mayores. Francisco Mena puso en valor la apuesta institucional por este modelo de ocio, destacando que permite que los jóvenes del municipio de San Roque “tengan la oportunidad de tener ocio saludable acompañados de sus familias”. También señaló que aún queda por abrir un último centro que dará cobertura a otras zonas del municipio.
Tras agradecer la confianza del Consistorio y de las familias, indicó que el número de inscritos seguirá creciendo con la incorporación de este nuevo espacio. En este sentido, aseguró que “San Roque va a ofrecer una oferta de ocio y tiempo libre inigualable en la provincia de Cádiz”.

After expressing gratitude for the trust of the Council and families, he indicated that the number of people registered will continue to grow with the addition of this new space. In this regard, he assured that “San Roque will offer an unrivalled range of leisure in the province of Cádiz.”

El Real Club de Golf Sotogrande recoge una nueva edición de la Copa RGS Sotogrande 2026. Un evento distinguido por su tradición y por ser conocido como escaparate de promesas del golf nacional e internacional. Durante esta edición se han alzado con la victoria el equipo masculino de Suecia y el equipo femenino de Inglaterra, cuatro días intenso de mucha tensión y competitividad para conseguir el preciado título.
La cantera española ha demostrado todo su potencial, el equipo femenino se quedo a las puertas del pódium con en cuarto lugar, mientras que el equipo masculino bajo dos puestas en la última ronda quedándose en novena posición. Este año la copa no ha podido quedarse en casa como ya sucedió en 2025 con el equipo femenino y en 2022 con el equipo masculino.
Por lo que respecta a la clasificación individual en la repre-
sentación femenina, Adriana García Terol ha logrado el mejor puesto de las españolas al compartir la séptima posición, Carolina Pérez-Tasso ha compartido la décima plaza y Nagore Martínez el puesto décimo sexto.
Por su parte, en la clasificación individual masculina, Yago Horno ha ocupado el mejor lugar de los españoles al compartir el puesto décimo sexto, Nicolás Vidal ha compartido la posición 22ª, Marcel Fonseca ha ocupado el puesto 25º y Gonzalo Baños ha terminado 35º.

Real Club de Golf Sotogrande hosted another edition of the 2026 RGS Sotogrande Cup. A
distinguished event thanks to its tradition and the fact it is known as a showcase for up
and coming players in national and international golf. At this edition, the Swedish men’s
team and English women’s team took victory, after four intense days with lots of tension and competitiveness to attain the sought-after title.
The young Spanish players showed all their potential, the women’s team just missed out on the podium in fourth place, while the men’s team fell two places in the last round, and finished in ninth place. This year, the cup couldn’t stay at home, as was the case in 2025 with the women’s team and in 2022 with the men’s team.
With regard to the individual rankings amongst the women, Adriana García Terol obtained top spot among the Spaniards by sharing seventh place, Carolina Pérez-Tasso shared tenth place and Nagore Martínez finished in sixteenth.
In turn, in the men’s single rankings, Yago Horno finished top among the Spaniards in a tie for sixteenth place, Nicolás Vidal shared 22nd place, Marcel Fonseca took 25th spot, and Gonzalo Baños finished in 35th place.

An intense day at the Guadiaro club where Ana Vega was re-elected by the members of La Cañada Golf. After a participation level of almost 50%, with a total of 501 votes cast, she obtained 252 votes. A majority that once again consolidates her as president of the golf course.
After four years in charge during which her involvement and vision were clear “making an investment to recover the club and its facilities without affecting the membership fee” as Ana tells us.
La Cañada has very well-defined values that it wants to preserve and maintain, a golf course that commits to the future with a well-known academy as the driving force behind big national and international stars such as Álvaro Quirós, María Parra, Raúl Quirós, Ángel Ayora and Mario Galiano, among others. As well as allowing residents in the area to enjoy this sport.
Ana and her team are clear about the next steps “The crucial aim is to improve the golf school with the Performance Centre. Also, we are going to work on sustainability by improving the service. We are collaborating with the Council and Sotogrande S.A on the use of recycled water, managing to make the course increasingly sustainable. On the other hand, we want to create a small solar park to supply our own energy”.

El Campeonato de España y de Andalucía de motos de agua hizo historia este fin de semana al celebrarse por primera vez en el litoral sanroqueño, donde concluyó el domingo 12 de abril con una jornada dedicada al Rallyjet y la participación de cerca de un centenar de pilotos.
La Playa de Torreguadiaro ha sido el escenario de esta competición, un evento organizado por las federaciones española y andaluza de motonáutica, con la colaboración de la Delegación de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de San Roque y la Junta de Andalucía.
La elección de la Playa de Torreguadiaro como sede de la competición se debe a sus óptimas condiciones naturales para la práctica de este tipo de pruebas, así como a su cercanía con infraestructuras portuarias de referencia como Puerto Sotogrande, que ha servido de apoyo logístico y punto estratégico para la organización y los participantes.
Tres jornadas de competición
El viernes se dedicó a las tareas de montaje y verificaciones técnicas, mientras que el sábado se disputaron las tres mangas de la modalidad Circuito, centrada en la velocidad en un
recorrido balizado, concluyendo con la entrega de premios.
El teniente de alcalde de Deportes, Fernando Vega, puso en valor la apuesta del equipo de gobierno por el impulso del deporte, destacando tanto la calidad de las instalaciones municipales como el respaldo al deporte base en distintas disciplinas.
Asimismo, subrayó el trabajo realizado en la última década para atraer competiciones de mayor relevancia, señalando que este
campeonato supone un importante salto en proyección y conlleva un impacto positivo en la economía local.
Dispositivo organizativo municipal
Entre los participantes ha destacado la presencia del piloto Daniel Stiers, quien expresó su satisfacción por competir representando a San Roque en la prueba andaluza.
Desde el Ayuntamiento se ha coordinado además un amplio dispositivo organizativo y logístico para garantizar que el desarrollo del evento se lleve a cabo en las mejores condiciones, tanto para los participantes como para el público asistente.
The Spanish and Andalusian Jet Ski Championship made history this weekend by being held on the San Roque coastline for the first time, where it ended on Sunday 12 April with a day devoted to Rallyjet and the participation of almost one hundred racers.
Torreguadiaro Beach was the setting for this competition, an event organised by the Spanish and Andalusian powerboat federations, with the collaboration of the Department of Sport of the Council of San Roque and the Regional Government of Andalusia.
The choice of Torreguadiaro Beach as the competition venue was due to the fact that its optimal natural conditions for holding these types of events, as well as its closeness to leading port infrastructures such as Sotogrande Port, which provided logistical support and a strategic point for the organisers and participants.
Three days of competition Friday was devoted to assembly work and technical checks, while on Saturday three heats of the Circuit discipline were held, focused on speed on a route marked out with buoys, and concluding with the awards ceremony.
The delegate for Sport, Fernando Vega, highlighted the commitment of the government team to promote sport, highlighting both the quality of the municipal facilities and the backing of grassroots sport in different disciplines.
Likewise, he highlighted the work carried out over the last decade to attract important competitions, noting that this championship is an important leap up in terms of projection and has a positive impact on the local economy.
Municipal organisation operation
The participants notably included the racer Daniel
Stiers, who outlined his satisfaction at competing while representing San Roque in the Andalusian event. The Council also coordinated a large organisational and logistical operation to ensure that the event took place in the best conditions, for both participants and the public in attendance.

El palo acabó rompiéndose, de modo que se vio obligado a continuar los 16 hoyos restantes sin él. Además, esta acción motivó la
intervención del comité de competición, que le mostró una primera advertencia bajo el código de conducta, siendo la primera sanción de este tipo en el torneo.
El golfista de Borriol ya había llegado al fin de semana sin opciones competitivas, pero su frustración se hizo evidente en una jornada en la que además tuvo que continuar el recorrido sin su driver, al no poder sustituirlo tras la rotura.
McIlroy revalida la chaqueta verde Por su parte, fue el norirlandés Rory McIlroy el que se proclamó campeón del Masters de Augusta, uno de los cuatro ‘majors’ del golf, por segundo año consecutivo, tras contener la presión de sus rivales en la última jornada.
McIlroy terminó el torneo con un acumulado de -12, un golpe por encima del estadounidense Scottie Scheffler, que estuvo cerca de cuajar una histórica remontada durante el fin de semana.
El golfista se convirtió en el primer jugador en enfundarse la chaqueta verde del Masters de Augusta en dos ediciones consecutivas desde que lo hiciera Tiger Woods en 2001 y 2002.

The performance of the two Spanish golfers at the 90th edition of the Masters didn’t provide the memories we hoped for. Jon Rahm and Sergio García, both of whom have a green jacket in their trophy cabinets, experienced a tough week at Augusta (United States), far from their top level and with no real chance of battling it out at the top of the leaderboard.
Rahm, who improved over the final day, carded his best score of the tournament with a round of four under par (-4). However, the overall result of +1 left him
outside the top spots in his weakest performance at the American course since his victory in 2023. The Basque player offered a stronger version of himself in the final stretch, with more precise play from the tee and a total of seven birdies, although three errors tarnished his round, including one at hole 18 which prevented him finishing with par.
Sanction for Sergio García Sergio García had an even more difficult situation. The player from Castellon couldn’t find his
groove at any point in the tournament and starred in a tense moment at the start of the last day.
After earning a bogey at the first hole, on the 2nd he send his drive into the fairway bunker, and after taking the shot he vented his unease by hitting his driver, first against the ground in the tee area and then against the cooler. He ended up breaking his club, which meant he was forced to continue playing the remaining 16 holes without it. Also, the action prompted inter-
vention from the competition committee, who issued an initial warning under the code of conduct, the first sanction of this kind at the tournament.
The golfer from Borriol had already reached the weekend without competitive options, but his frustration became clear on a day when he also had to continue the round without his driver, as he was unable to replace it after breaking it.
McIlroy retains green jacket

El golfista añadió “Josele es una persona que no carece de potencia. Alguien tan explosivo y, al mismo tiempo, tan sereno en su personalidad que es raro. Creo que es el único hombre que ha ganado tanto el Campeonato de Europa como el US Amateur. Ciertamente no le falta talento. Obviamente tiene un poco me-
nos de experiencia como profesional, pero ya ha ganado y puede hacerlo”

“I have spent a large part of the last two years with David Puig. We have the same fitness trainer, the same swing coach, Spencer Tatum and Dave Phillips, and we are members of the same clubs. I think I spend more time with him than with my
wife or my children. I am not surprised seeing him up there, nor by the weekend he had. Therefore I kept my foot on the gas because I know what he is capable of. He shot -9 yesterday and was on the way to doing it again today. I had to prepare for that.”

Tras encadenar cinco triunfos consecutivos en la última edición, el equipo andaluz llega como el gran referente del torneo, apoyado en una plantilla sólida y con experiencia en competiciones nacionales e internacionales.
El conjunto cuenta con nombres destacados como Gonzalo Baños, Oliver de Wint y Samuel Love, todos ellos con recorrido en Equipos Nacionales y con resultados recientes que avalan su rendimiento. Junto a ellos, completan la ali-
