Adelante Awards 2018 Nomination and Criteria Form (One nominee per form) The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis presents its Adelante Awards to individuals, businesses and organizations that have proven to be leaders and have made a worthwhile contribution to the metro area.

ADELANTE AWARDS CRITERIA The following are the awards and related criteria by which nominations for our annual Adelante Awards will be evaluated. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce seeks to recognize those individuals and organizations that have had a significant, positive impact on the Hispanic business community. At the Adelante Awards Committee’s discretion, awards will be given if the criteria for each award have been met. In the case the committee feels that the criteria have not been sufficiently met by any of the nominees for a specific award, that award will not be given that year.

Hispanic Business Advocate of the Year Nominations will be considered for businesses and / or institutions for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Actively fostered the participation of Hispanic business enterprises as vendors, suppliers, contractors, or other business partnering arrangements with their organization - Supported the Hispanic community through the hiring of Hispanics and/or the internal promotion of Hispanics to positions of responsibility within their organizations.

Hispanic Lifetime Achievement Award Nominations will be considered for Hispanic individuals for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Significantly contributed to the development and advancement of the Hispanic community in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area - Many years of continuous and meritorious service, support, and leadership to: o the Hispanic business community o the Hispanic community at wide Civic Award of the Year Organizations or individuals who, as a direct result of their activities, have contributed to improving the quality of life of community members.

Hispanic Emerging Leader Award Nominations will be considered for Hispanic individuals (35 years old and younger) with notable contributions to the Hispanic Chamber and/ or the St. Louis community in one or more of the following areas: -

Actively contribute to the betterment of their place of employment and / or the St. Louis community Consistently supports the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce through his/her personal time and participation Hispanic Company of the Year

Nominations will be considered for Hispanic majority owned companies for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Experienced growth in number of employees

- Increased sales or unit volumes - Offered innovative products or services - Contributed to the advancement of the Hispanic community in particular and the larger community in general.

Hispanic Businessperson of the Year Nominations will be considered for Hispanic businesspersons for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Provided entrepreneurial leadership required for long term success - Has a proven track record of leading business enterprises as demonstrated by outstanding sales and/or the offering of innovative products or services - Contributed to the advancement of other Hispanic entrepreneurs through mentoring and support - Contributed to the advancement of the Hispanic Community in particular and the larger community in general Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year Nominations will be considered for any Hispanic Chamber of Commerce member in good standing for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Individual that has committed his/her personal time and resources in service for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - Demonstrated leadership as a participant in Hispanic Chamber of Commerce committees - Personally contributed to increasing membership in the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - Served as an ambassador and promoter of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to the community at large Hispanic Emerging Business of the Year Nominations will be considered for Hispanic organizations five (5) years old or younger for demonstrating achievements in one or more of the following areas: - Provided entrepreneurial leadership required for long term success - Offered innovative products or services - Experienced steady employment and/or sales growth - Contributed to the advancement of the Hispanic Community in particular and the larger community in general.
