Online Tutoring Has Never Been Better!

Did you know that you can receive extra help in specific areas and subjects in the comfort of your own home? Just as e-learning has basically changed the manner in which students absorb information and complete their coursework, online tutoring gives the supplemental abilities that students need to succeed in a way that is fundamentally more practical and advantageous than traditional services.

The Academic Support Center at HCC provides tutoring by peer and master tutors in the most formative and college-level subjects in a one-on-one basis that is free of charge and for registered courses. The importance of online tutoring comes with the value of its adaptability and flexibility. Sessions start when tutors and students set up a virtual meeting online. Thanks to this simple platform, tutoring services are accessible from any device.

Interim Director of the Academic Support Center, Andrew Pelletier, believes that every student should have access to extra help with easy access.

“Students are more comfortable and have shown to easily adjust to online tutoring. We see that they actually enjoy their sessions, and have improved in course material to get fantastic grades,” he said.

Online tutoring can be personalized to any student, regardless of what level and learning needs each student has; the academic support team promises to help each individual to understand their course material. Pelletier also noted the other benefits of using online tutoring.

“Social abilities further develop when students get tutoring. They communicate, participate, and respond to other students, professors, and their classwork,” he said.

Mentoring permits students to become comfortable requesting help and responsive to guidance and criticism on their work.
