2020 HHPPS Proposed Rule Expected This Week HCA to examine PDGM items, updates or changes in sprawling Medicare payment rule In order to meet the public comment and implementation thresholds to go live on January 1, 2020, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) customarily issues its proposed Home Health Prospective Payment System (HHPPS) rule this week in anticipation of the upcoming calendar year. PMPM, Technical Issues Scoped at 2nd FI Workgroup Meeting At its second meeting, on June 25, members of the state’s Fiscal Intermediary (FI) Workgroup raised imminent payment changes for FIs that are foremost on the minds of FIs and advocates, though payment discussions are not a part of the workgroup’s explicit charge. During a special ceremony at Northwell Health recently, HCA President and CEO Al Cardillo presented Dr. Martin Doerfler with a 2019 HCA Physician Champion award.
