Minimum Wage Funding Update Further Guidance Imminent HCA expects that further guidance is imminent from the state Department of Health (DOH) on funding to help home care providers pay for the December 31 minimum wage increase in New York City. As communicated to members, DOH had issued guidance on October 28, but this raised a lot of questions over how much money MLTC plans have to pass on to their home care contractors, whether plans could reduce their rates prior to passing on funding for the minimum wage increase, and other issues. See WAGE p. 4
Post-Election Political Landscape in D.C. Remains Uncertain for Medicare, Medicaid President-elect Donald Trump’s vow to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) leaves a long list of unanswered questions and speculation not only about the future of ACA’s health insurance provisions, but also about the status of many federal and state-level projects being undertaken in coordination with the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). See ELECTION p. 2
