HCA President Seeks Medicare Payment Reform Fixes, Safeguards and Other Priorities in D.C. Visits with Congress, Federal Partners HCA President Joanne Cunningham is headed to Washington, D.C. this week for a span of meetings with the New York Congressional Delegation as well as strategy sessions with federal partners. Ms. Cunningham will first meet with National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) President Bill Dombi, continuing our close coordination efforts with NAHC on federal advocacy efforts and messaging. She will also meet with the offices of New York’s Congressional Delegation – both with key office staff and lawmakers – to outline home care and hospice legislative priorities. See FIXES p. 4
Legislative Funnel Extra Narrow for 2018 Session Finale The State Legislature today rolls into the final scheduled days of its 2018 session with a billowing number bills of bills, including pro-home care measures drafted and/or supported by HCA, facing an extra narrow funnel. Many bills, though necessary and ordinarily welcomed for passage, will be halted in this year’s substantially limited window for final bill movement. See FUNNEL p. 2
