Senate, Assembly Drafting, Soon Passing One House Budget Bills The state budget process takes a critical step as the Senate and Assembly have compiled – and will start passing – one-house budget bills as soon as tomorrow. HCA and counsels at Hinman-Straub have been working to position our advocacy concerns, proposals and counter proposals to be addressed in one or both of these bills. It is vital that HCA’s priorities are incorporated in this formative process; after passage of the one-house bills, the Senate and Assembly will then reconcile differences in their positions and proceed to three-way negotiations with the Executive. See BUDGET p. 2
