High Risk For Home Care: Act Now to Urge Amendments on New, Problematic Advanced Aide Proposal This week HCA received draft bill language on an “Advanced Home Health Aide” (AHHA) proposal being circulated in the Legislature that is extremely problematic for home care. HCA has supported the “Advanced Home Health Aide” concept in prior years (and advanced legislation to achieve this). We have also been involved in stakeholder meetings to shape these past proposals. However, this latest version (in bill-draft form) contains many more baseline objectionable items that HCA is actively working with key legislative offices to fix. See RISK p. 2

Important: LTHHCP Options Continue Prior announcement of waiver expiration does not mean LTHHCP providers close, or op-certs expire Last week, a General Information System (GIS-16 MA/ 11) notice was issued by the state Department of Health (DOH) indicating expiration of the Medicaid home and community based services waiver for the Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP).
