HCA Continues to Press Home Care Investments, Wage Funding Following 30-Day Budget Amendments For members hearing various wage impact estimates, HCA explains figures used by a coalition of five allied associations Late last week, after ASAP went to press, the Governor released his 30-day budget amendments. HCA and association partners have appealed for urgent investments in health care as part of these amendments; yet, the Governor’s 30-day proposals only make technical changes to his Paid Medical Leave plan and to areas that don’t directly impact home care or other health care providers. The 30-day amendments are an important milestone. They complete the Governor’s proposal phase and pave the next stages of Legislative negotiations, which will be escalating quickly.

As earlier reported, HCA and a coalition of allied health associations sent a joint letter to Governor Cuomo urging appropriations in the 30-day amendments to cover his proposed minimum wage mandate, specifically. However, the Governor’s amended budget, regrettably, continues to leave this mandate unfunded.
