Home Care Leaders – Like You – Are Needed in Albany on Feb. 1-2 for State Advocacy HCA’s State Advocacy Day and corresponding Political Action Committee (PAC) reception in Albany are less than two weeks away. We need home care leaders, like you, to join us for this important program, on February 1-2, as we present legislators and key state officials at the Capitol with broad principles for urgently needed action on behalf of New York’s home care system. See ADVOCACY p. 2
HCA Presses Minimum Wage and FLSA Funding HCA continued our vigorous efforts to provide policymakers with data on the cost of a minimum wage increase for home care agencies and to advocate for necessary funding. Over the past two weeks, HCA, along with other health care provider associations, met with Senate Health Committee Chairman Kemp Hannon as well as key staff from the Assembly Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance committee, and state Division of the Budget to discuss the cost impact of a proposed $15 per hour minimum wage increase on the entire home care industry.
