While juggling the bale between focusing  her n problems and taking care of her sick father, Marissa discovers the ability to pause time. When her dad passes away e takes time to be still and properly grieve the ls of her father and face all the emotis and mental health issues e was avoiding.

Motion is a short film that not only explores a lot of issues of self-identity, self-love, and self-trust, but a film that also explores common themes that a lot of the current new generation would be interested to explore. A lot of these organizations hold the same values.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

My family and friends are a really big part of my life and recently my grandfather passed away. Watching my grandmother go through that grief of losing the most important thing in her life was truly the most devastating process I think I will ever observe. This made me want to tell the story of true grief, because in every other film or television show I never saw the true story of grief. I want to show what happens after, before, outside, and inside. However, I also wanted to tell an interesting story that also combined my own interests. A lot of my own difficulties, include restless nights from working all night or nightmares terrorizing my own mind. One night, I had a nightmare that the whole world was paused just for me. I was alone, scared, excited, and amazed. I woke up and felt almost attached to this idea of time genuinely being mine and telling me everything I needed to know.

Time became my best friend, but soon became my enemy. Motion was born through my own greatest dreams and fears. I became obsessed with this story working on it for basically twenty four hours everyday for months. I combined my love of beauty and pain to pursue art in ways that in my opinion haven’t been explored completely. I wanted to combine reality with fantasy and pursue a story to show how having a power doesn’t necessarily give you power. Essentially, showing that your inner angels can become devils and your inner devils can become angels. This story isn’t just about characters in a movie but about the audience watching the movie; changing the way movies should be entertained. Film isn’t just about people watching for entertainment, it’s also about people growing through experiences in which they leave a different person they were before they went through that experience the filmmaker provided. Motion’s audience is very wide that anyone who has ever hurt before could leave the film feeling different than they were before. Motion is about creating movement in the audience through sci-fi and drama to capture the essence of reality and incorporating our imagination.
