This battle game made headlines when Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar, took to his social media handles to announce its arrival.
The game was developed in Bengaluru and founded by nCore Games. One of the founders of the game, Vishal Gondal, had earlier mentioned in a tweet that the game is being developed in response to PM’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign.
On Republic day this year, FAU-G was released.
Post the ban on Chinese applications, there was a need for a game to replace PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG). Though there are speculations that PUBG would return, no specific dates were provided. This turned out to be the perfect time to harp on the need for a first-person shooter game. FAU-G has benefitted highly as the need for homegrown apps has increased.
FAU-G will include crucial episodes from the history of Indian armed forces as it is being advertised to be more than just a battle royale game. The description of the game reads, “High up on the peaks at India’s northern border, an elite fighting group protects the nation’s pride and sovereignty. It’s a daunting task, for the most courageous: The Fearless and United Guards. Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face-toface with India’s enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil. Fight for survival against the unforgiving terrain and the implacable enemy. Fill the shoes of a patriotic soldier and experience the bravery, brotherhood, and sacrifice of the men guarding the country’s borders.” 20% of the net revenue generated from the game will be donated to ‘Bharat Ke Veer’, a fund-raising initiative by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in support of the members of India’s paramilitary forces.
FAU-G is surely going to cause a wave of appreciation and may have even more fans than PUBG!
