I am honored to be elected as your 2024 President of the Home Builders Association of South Carolina (HBASC) and I look forward to serving. I appreciate the role of the President of the HBASC to promote, serve and protect the HBA and the construction industry at large. Having been part of the Horry-Georgetown HBA and the HBASC for almost 15 years, I can honestly say the HBA has been one of the most instrumental parts of my professional development. From my early days of making industry contacts and learning from fellow members to becoming a person that can help others grow as both businesses and professionals, I?ve always been appreciative of the journey.As an Association we must not only maintain, but enhance, our efforts to lessen government regulation, increase economic development and most importantly help recruit and train the next generation of builders and trades people. This mix is good for our industry and benefits the citizens of our state. We will prosper and continue to grow only if we work together. Our HBA has been and continues to be proactive on regulatory issues including impact fees, residential fire sprinklers, building codes, road funding, tort reform and property tax reform among others. The HBA offers its members tools to grow and prosper. The mission of the HBA of SC is advocacy for our industry and its work carries over to all aspects of the building business. Our advocacy efforts will only be improved and more effective as our membership grows and it will only grow when those who work in our industry realize their livelihood not only benefits from but depends on the work of the HBA. The HBA IS the membership. It is the personal involvement of members working to improve and increase opportunity in our industry. The success of the building industry in South Carolina depends on the strength of our membership. It depends on our HBA having smart, dedicated, and enthusiastic members.I commit to each of you that we will work toward this shared vision and share this journey as peers, businesses and friends. 2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Rob Clemons, President Rob Clemons has been working in t he const ruct ion field since 2002. He is t he owner and t he Broker in Charge of Carolina Bays Real Est at e and Const ruct ion. He is a long t ime member and was t he 2015-16 President of t he Horry- Georget own Home Builder Associat ion. Rob has been recognized by Professional Builder M agazine as one of t he 40 under 40 in t he count ry. Clemons was also vot ed 2020 Thomas N. Bagnel Builder M ember of t he Year. He and his wife live in M urrells Inlet , SC. As President , Rob is t he chief elect ed officer and influences HBA goals and object ives during his t ime in office.

Eddie Yandle, Vice President Eddie and Shannan Yandle are t he owners and founders of Execut ive Const ruct ion. Eddie Yandle has been in t he building indust ry his ent ire life and has earned t he professional designat ions of a Cert ified M ast er Builder and a Cert ified Green Professional. Eddie is very involved wit h his local communit y event s and has served as t he 2016 President of t he BIA of Cent ral SC. Yandle will perform t he dut ies and responsibilit ies of t he President during t he President 's absence.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Doug James, Treasurer Doug James is t he President and Owner of Osprey Const ruct ion Company, Inc., a cust om home building firm on Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns Island. He is an act ive member of t he Charlest on HBA, which named him Builder of t he Year in 2012 . He also served as President of t he Charlest on HBA in 2015. James plays a key role in t he HBASC as t reasurer, ensuring t he int egrit y of fiscal affairs and accurat e financial records.

Hal Dillard, Secret ary Hal Dillard is a second-generat ion resident ial builder and President of H. Dillard Company, Inc. His company was est ablished in 1987 and has been a t rust ed provider of high-qualit y and affordable housing in Greenville, SC. He has always enjoyed building and maint aining homes for people t o call t heirs. He grew up working for his fat her. Carrying on what his fat her st art ed has been his daily mot ivat ion. Hal also serves as a Commissioner on t he S.C. Resident ial Builders Commission. In his free t ime he enjoys spending t ime wit h his wife Leah and his family. Dillard performs dut ies such as keeping records of decisions/discussions at Execut ive Commit t ee and Board of Direct ors meet ings.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Louie Hopkins, Immediat e Past President Louie Hopkins, Owner and President of Hopkins Builders, has been involved in t he building indust ry for over 20 years. Louie st art ed his career working in t he family business at an early age learning t he essent ials of t he home building t rade. In 2001, he t ook his knowledge and business expert ise t o a new level when he formed Hopkins Builders. He will provide advice and leadership t o t he t he Board of Direct ors regarding past pract ices and ot her mat t ers t o assist t he board in governing t he associat ion.

Bennet t Griffin, Associat e Vice President Bennet t Griffin, a Hart sville nat ive, is a key member of t he Execut ive Commit t ee in t hat he assist s in t he performance of t he president 's dut ies wit h emphasis on associat e members' issues. He ensures t he recognit ion of associat e members. Effort s are also made t o promot e doing business wit h ot her members, essent ially enhancing associat e members' business. He and his wife, Helen, have t hree children and reside in Columbia. Griffin is a part ner wit h Brabham Griffin Insurance.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Andy Barber, Dist rict 1 Vice President Andy Barber is t he president and founder of Generat ion Homes out of Charlest on. He is t he first recipient of t he HBASC Associat e M ember of t he Year Award, and serves as chairman of t he HBASC Builder Codes Commit t ee. As dist rict Vice President , Barber will report back on local HBA act ivit ies and concerns when ot her HBA represent at ives are not available.

Kevin St eelman, Dist rict 2 Vice President Kevin St eelman is president and chief execut ive officer of LandTech, a privat e real est at e development , market ing and management firm locat ed in Columbia. Kevin is a licensed realt or, a CPA and holds a mast er of business administ rat ion degree from t he Universit y of Sout h Carolina as well as an account ing degree from Newberry College where he serves on it s board of t rust ees.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Johnny Uldrick, CM B, Dist rict 3 Vice President Johnny Uldrick, owner of Uldrick Builders, LLC, learned t he business by wat ching and helping his fat her. Event ually, he t ook over t he family business in 1990. He is most not ably known for his cust om built homes, which has offered him t he opport unit y of being t he first recipient of t he HBASC Thoms N. Bagnel Builder M ember of t he Year award. Uldrick was also inst alled int o t he S.C. Housing Hall of Fame in 2012.

M ark Aut orino, Dist rict 4 Vice President M ark Aut orino is t he president and founder of Aut orino Const ruct ion Inc. M ark is a second generat ion builder. 2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Ken Gibson, Dist rict 5 Vice President Ken Gibson has over 25 years of experience in home building and owns RiverBend Builder LLC wit h his wife Amber. Ken has served on t he Board of t he HBA of t he Great er Pee Dee for 4 years and is very involved wit h his communit y. Ken, Amber and his four children reside in Hart sville, SC.

Brandon Edwards, Nat ional Represent at ive t o NAHB Brandon Edwards, President of t he Hilt on Head Area HBA and a Thomas N. Bagnal Builder of t he Year Recipient , is a part ner wit h Element Const ruct ion in Blufft on. Brandon began his career in t he const ruct ion indust ry in 2001. He is a proud graduat e of Clemson Universit y's School of Archit ect ure and holds bot h his resident ial builder's license and his general cont ract or's license. As our st at e rep t o t he Nat ional Associat ion of Home Builders, Brandon sit s on t he NAHB Corporat e Board of Direct ors and represent s all HBASC members and report s t o t he HBASC Board of Direct ors.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Bart Bart let t , St at e Represent at ive t o NAHB M .L. (Bart ) Bart let t , Jr.,attorney, is t he owner of Bart let t Law Firm, Inc. and founder of Houzit Const ruct ion Company. His law pract ice assist s client s in mat t ers of collaborat ive law, family law, real est at e, t it le insurance, est at e planning and probat e law. Bart is a member and past president of t he Building Indust ry of Cent ral Sout h Carolina. He is also a member and delegat e of t he Nat ional Home Builders Associat ion (NAHB) and serves as t he Build Pac Trust ee for t he St at e of Sout h Carolina at t he NAHB. He resides in Columbia wit h his wife,

Ed Byrd, M embership Chair Ed Byrd is one of t he founders of t he Sout heast ern Insurance Consult ant s (SIC). SIC is a consult ing agency specializing in individual and group healt h, life and ret irement licensed product s. Byrd he been a board member of t he HBASC and mult iple local associat ions. Byrd and t he SIC crew are easily recognized for t he BBQ t hey serve at count less HBA event s across t he st at e. Byrd's dut ies are t o promot e a membership st rat egic plan, manage t he annual membership drive and membership recruit ment .

wit h over t hirt y years of experience in t he home building indust ry. He is past president of t he BIA of Cent ral SC as well as t he HBA of Sout h Carolina. W hit e is also t he developer of t he award-winning Saluda River Club and was induct ed int o t he S.C. Housing Hall of Fame in 2013..

Darryl Hall, Legislat ive Commit t ee Co-Chair Darryl Hall is a builder and realt or in t he Florence area. He is a great cont ribut or t o t he Home Builders Associat ion and is also a past president of t he HBASC. Hall was recent ly inst alled int o t he Sout h Carolina Hall of Fame in 2023. Darryl est ablished Hall Const ruct ion, Inc. in 1990. It soon became a family business wit h t he addit ion of his parent s. Hall will help commit all resources t o achieve t he HBASC Legislat ive agenda.

2024 HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee Taylor Lyles, EOC Chairperson Since 2018, Taylor Lyles has held t he role of Chief Execut ive Officer at t he Home Builders Associat ion of Greenville, init ially joining as Business Development . Taylor is dedicat ed t o t he associat ion's growt h, ensuring each member's specific needs are addressed, whet her relat ed t o event s, connect ions, advocacy, or ideas. He also serves as a liaison bet ween t he Execut ive Officers Council and t he HBASC Execut ive Commit t ee, act ively sharing concerns, ideas, and feedback t o cont ribut e t o t he ongoing development of t he organizat ion. Throughout t his process, Taylor highlight s t he success and expansion of each local associat ion wit hin our net work.
