On behalf of the Home Builders Association of South Carolina (HBASC), I invite you to take a fresh look at our great state and the incredible craftsmanship our members deliver every day. From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the beautiful Lowcountry coastline?and all the rich culture and unmatched Southern hospitality in between?South Carolina truly is an exceptional place to live, work, and play.
Since our charter in 1963, the HBASChas remained committed to one core mission: promoting safe, quality, and attainable housing for South Carolinians of all income levels. We believe every individual and every family deserves a place they can proudly call home. Study after study shows that access to attainable housing improves educational outcomes, strengthens communities, fuels economic growth, and enhances the well-being of children and families. Our members take that responsibility seriously.
This month?s issue highlights something special: the recipients of the 2025 HBASCPinnacle Awards. These awards honor builders and remodelers who exemplify the highest standards of quality construction, innovative design, and outstanding customer satisfaction. I extend my sincere congratulations to each of our winners. Your dedication raises the bar for our industry and gives South Carolina yet another reason to be proud.
If you?re considering buying a new home, remodeling, or starting any construction project, I encourage you to work with a professional member of your local Home Builders Association. Our members adhere to strong ethical standards, invest in continuing education, and are committed to delivering exceptional results.
On a personal note, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our builders, associates, affiliates, committee members, and every individual who supports our HBASCand our local associations. I?m especially thankful for our hardworking staff whose efforts keep our organization moving forward each day. To our full membership?thank you for giving me the honor of serving as your president this year. What our HBAs accomplish behind the scenes is extraordinary, and often unseen, but it is the foundation of our collective strength.
As we look ahead, I am reminded of something I firmly believe: every person has the gift of leadership?the ability to lift up those around them by their words, actions, and example. As we move beyond 2025, I challenge all of us to lead boldly, support one another, stay optimistic, and continue fighting for what we know is right for our industry and for the families we serve.
