Chairperson’s Message by Jeff Bielenberg
Spring has arrived, but so far has been more miserable than last winter. For those of you who have exterior projects, this spring has been somewhat unbearable to work in, let alone be efficient at our crafts. Employees unable to get sufficient hours needed to support their needs, thus contractors unable to be timely with their efforts to stay on any kind of a schedule to meet their clients expectations, has everybody on edge. Each week that passes by, I think the weather is going to turn the corner for the better (warm, sunshiny weather), but still the cold rainy weather continues to my own disappointment. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for our seven members who have entries in the Tour of Remodeled Homes, April 27-28. I hope all 14 entries have a great turn out of patrons interested in your remodeling abilities, along with warm sunny weather! Remember the cost is $5.00 per person, and children 12 years and under are free to go through the Tour. I’d like to Welcome Jay Wilkinson back to his roots here in Lincoln and extend a “Thank You” for allowing our members a tour of his innovative companies, Cornerstone Printing and Firespring. Firespring is a company he started in New York to help non-profit entities around the world increase their donor fundraising revenues. It’s always great news to find out some of our past residents do return to help better our community. The Best of the Best category for May is the Best Pool Design/ Remodel. This month’s winner for Best Bathroom is Innovative Homes & Design. Congrats to them! Please submit your entries for Best Pool Design/Remodel to Kayla at the Home Builders office. Also, mark your calendars for our May 1 meeting at Reimers Kaufman show room, where you will see lots of ideas and materials/products for your customers’ landscaping projects. Hope to see everyone there!

Next month features pools, so be sure to submit your photo of the pool you have done or been a part of since 2011 to the HBAL office no later than May 15, 2013 to be considered as the Best of the Best! Recognition will include a picture of the project along with your company name in the Step by Step publication and a spot on the HBAL website for one month.
