President’s Message Justin Johnson HBAL President

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is upon us and 2016 is coming to a close. I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with friends and family over Thanksgiving and Christmas and hope you have a chance to do the same. We’ve been truly blessed with beautiful weather. I’m sure the white stuff is still coming, but hopefully after I get my Christmas lights hung.

Our 28th annual Toys for Santa Cop project was a great success. We had nearly 100 volunteers make 72 Lego tables for those in need. To date, HBAL has built nearly 2,000 toys for this special project. I want to thank all those who have given of their time or contributed financially to this event. If you’ve never had a part in this event, I encourage you get involved next year. You’ll be glad you did.

Our November General Membership Meeting was held at Blue Blood Brewery this year. We wanted to have more of a social type event without a speaker or formal agenda. It was well attended and nice to just sit back, relax and socialize with fellow members. We look forward to doing something like this again.

One event you don’t want to miss is the HBAL Christmas Party on December 8 at the Nebraska Champions Club. We’re bringing back the Dueling Duo which is a dueling pianos request show. I guarantee a fun and entertaining evening with plenty of comedy as well as great food catered by Venue. You’ll also have a chance to win $1,000 in a round of Heads or Tails with the proceeds supporting the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation. Make this a company event or just come with your friends and family. I hope to see you there.

Thanks to Raynor Doors of Nebraska for hosting last month’s Hard Hat Happy Hour!

The busy Holiday season is upon us. Thank you to all of those who came out to help with the Santa Cop project. The 72 Lego tables turned out great and the kids had a blast putting together the little wooden robots.

The YBP group will be delivering the wooden robots to the Lancaster Matt Kinning Rehabilitation Center Friday, YBP President December 2. If you would like to join in on the fun please contact Andrea at 402-423-4225. What better way to kick off the season of giving.

Although we will not be gathering for a Midday Meetup this month, I do look forward to seeing you all at the HBAL Christmas Party as we bring back a crowd favorite, The Dueling Duo dueling pianos request show.
