Bringing the wider Hazlegrove community up to date with recent events...

Lockdown 3.0 saw Hazlegrove pupils Remote Learning

Outstanding levels of effort and enthusiasm were put in by all during the eight weeks of learning at home.

Monday 8 March saw the School fully open with the majority of pupils reuniting with friends and teachers to complete the rest of the Spring term back in the classroom.

A huge well done to all.

Spring 2021

Year 3 created models of the UK in Geography

Year 4 worked hard at their Ancient Egyptians topic Year 5 have been cooking up a storm in their kitchens

Year 6 have produced great French speaking videos

The boarders returned to School enjoying two weekends of fun including pond dipping, nail painting, cream teas, water fights, nerf wars, crocheting, and the famous Easter Feast!

Hazlegrove have made the most of being outdoors back at School with 8S outside collecting data to learn how to use a spreadsheet and Year 4 heading into the woods for a Conversation Walk.

Pupils had fun in Drama

including Disco Drama, Remote Learning lessons for Children’s Mental Health Week and a film poster recreation competition!

The Spring Concert rounded off the Spring term in style

with performances from the Music Scholars, Hazlegrove Voices, and many more. Music lessons continued throughout remote learning with weekly virtual concert showcases.

DT lessons have been full of designing challenges during Remote Learning

including Fruity Friends, the best Remote Learning chair, restaurant projects, outfits for Mr Motivator and toys for the Nursery children. Daisy in Year 7 even constructed her own desk using skills learnt in the DT classroom.

The Hazlegrove Family Strava Challenge

Whilst Remote Learning, the #HazlegroveFamily collectively walked and ran the equivalent distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats. Even now back at School, the second challenge from Hazlegrove to Athens, Greece is in full swing.

PE and Games Challenges

Throughout lockdown the Games department were fully live. Lessons included: live workouts, yoga, HIT Sessions, strength and conditioning exercises and weekly Wednesday challenges. These included juggling workshops, the tea bag challenge, the bounce challenge, distance challenges, keepy uppies and the hugely popular scavenger hunts.

Internal Matches Returned when Hazlegrove

reopened for the final three weeks of term. Years 5-8 took to the hockey pitches and netball courts to play matches against each other on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

Whilst remote learning, many pupils enjoyed the snowfall... ...and so did the beloved highland cattle.
