Bringing the wider Hazlegrove community up to date with recent events...
The Festival of Drama and Dance encompassed all aspects of performing arts into a packed week of fun. The children had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of workshops, visits and activities including Aardman Animation model making workshops, an all day danceathon, Rio Carnival and Latin dance workshops, comedy drama workshops, a quiz, story boarding and stop motion lessons as well as much more. The week rounded off with two special festival concerts which celebrated film, musical theatre, drama and dance through the medium of music. We hope that our pupils enjoyed the festival and have developed a greater passion for the arts.
Hazlegrove created a human map of Australia on the school field to raise money and awareness for the Australian Bushfire Emergency Appeal.

The Lower School delighted us with Doctor Dolittle
Year 4 shone with energetic performances accompanied by the brilliant Year 3 children as the cheeky monkeys. Well done to all of Lower School for a fantastic production.
The annual Speech and Drama evening impressed us all. The
children had the chance to perform their recent LAMDA examination pieces to family.
A selection of concerts have
been enjoyed this term including the Music Scholars’ Soirée, Boarders’ Concerts and Festival Concerts.
Our Girls’ Cricket Team...
...reached the Lady Taverners Somerset County Finals.
Both our U13 and U11 Boys’ teams qualified for National IAPS Finals
The U12 and U10 teams won their KSB tournaments and our U11 team won the Sherborne Tournament.
Lots of success for boys and girls at the National IAPS Judo Finals U10b team won netball tournament... ...at KSB. A great achievement for our hardworking girls.
Achievements in Cross Country Year 8 Boys’ and Girls’ teams won Somerset County Team Title, four HZG children were selected to represent Somerset, with two gaining selection for the English Schools Championships in Liverpool. We also won three ‘fastest lap’ trophies and one team title at the Clayesmore Relays.
The school community took part in the Sport Relief Mile
Pupils, staff, parents and families set off on a mile run around the school grounds before running through the front gates to finish! We raised a brilliant £656.
