Hazlegrove Headlines

Bringing the wider Hazlegrove community up to date with recent events...

Hazlegrove’s Festival of STEM concentrated on all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The week was packed with visits, talks, activities and events that celebrated and inspired the children in their learning of STEM subjects.

A space-themed cake competition, dinosaurs, bugs, planetariums, visits and workshops from a multitude of engineers, an author and a marine biologist were just some of the events during the week. A particular highlight was a Wildcat helicopter landing on the school grounds.

We hope that the festival will have a lasting legacy at Hazlegrove and showed our passion for tomorrow.

Year 3 meet Her Majesty the Queen

The Year 3 children travelled to King’s School Bruton to take part in the opening of The Queen Elizabeth Music School

The boarders have had so much fun this term with trips to

‘Aladdin Kids’ was a triumph of a show for Year 6.

AirHop, the bowling alley, the cinema, South Barrow park, Mendip Outdoor Pursuits Centre and the amazing Crealy Adventure Park. An exciting Burns’ Night Supper was had as well as a scrumptious Easter feast with brilliant renditions of our favourite Country and Western tunes from the Johnsons.

Congratulations to all the Year 6 children. Their enthusiasm shone through on stage and the audience enjoyed the show immensely.

The Lower School performed ‘Pinafore Pirates’ as their annual production this year. The children sailed the high seas and gave a brilliant display of confidence and talent. A fantastic evening, well done Year 3 and 4.

3rd at National IAPS Hockey Finals. A proud moment to achieve 3rd of 91 competing schools.

Senior Cross Country Boys are National Champions...

All four age groups win the Team County Titles at Cross Country

Achievements in Modern Biathlon...U12 Boys’ Team were

crowned National Champions at the British Schools’ Modern Biathlon Championships.

... having taken part in the National Prep Schools Cross Country Championships at which three hundred children competed from schools across the UK.

National IAPS Judo Finals

Hazlegrove took home a Bronze and Silver Medal. Well done boys, what a great achievement.

An amazing result from our Riding Team...

...who excelled at the NSEA National Show Jumping Qualifiers winning the 80cm class and qualifying for the National Finals in October.

Community Sing was a great success, when over 250 primary school

children joined us for a tremendous day of singing workshops and performance led by world class musicians, Pete Churchill and Katie Teague.
