Hazlegrove Headlines Bringing the wider Hazlegrove community up to date with recent events...
Hazlegrove’s recent Festival of Wellbeing concentrated on all aspects of mental and physical health. The week was packed with visits, talks, activities and events that celebrated and emphasised the importance of having a sense of wellbeing in a world that grows ever more complicated. Parenting Forums, early morning runs, artistic pursuits, cooking, reaching out to the community, discussions about faith, safety online, a food fayre and a whole school run in aid of Sport Relief were just some of the events on offer. A particular highlight was a talk by our Festival Patron, broadcaster and journalist, John McCarthy. We hope that the festival will have a lasting legacy at Hazlegrove in myriad ways.

The Lower School entertained us brilliantly with their production of
‘Rain Maker’. The children gave everything in their performances and the singing was worthy of a West End stage. A fantastic evening out at the theatre.

Our U13 Netball Team were crowned Somerset County Champions
A great Cross Country season for Hazlegrove. Winners of all four races and team trophies at the Somerset County Championships, eight children gaining Somerset selection for the South West Championships and two Year 8’s being selected for the English Schools Cross Country in Leeds. Hazlegrove won a Gold Medal and
33 children competed at the National Biathlon Schools Finals at Crystal Palace. We
won lots of team awards but the highlight was the U11 Boys team winning overall.
Adventurer and film maker, Leon McCarron, gave our John McCarthy
Lecture. He took us on foot from Jerusalem and around the Dead Sea to Mount Sinai. It was interesting to hear about his journey and the people he met along the way.

Lots of rosettes and prizes at
local competitions including: dressage, arena eventing, show jumping and much more. Next stop, the National NSEA Finals in Buckingham.
