Upper School complete Three Peaks Stair Summits for Children in Need Pupils in Year 7 and 8 scaled stairs, ladders and local hills to climb the equivalent height of the Three Peaks at school and at home. Solo and team challenges were achieved to raise over ÂŁ5000.00 for BBC Children in Need.
Hazlegrove observes Remembrance in a socially distanced fashion
Virtual concerts have filled almost every week of this term

Year 7’s selection of Christmas playlets were
filmed to create Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, the movie. The pupils worked hard all term to be camera ready and were so professional on their shoot days. Congratulations.

International Day of Languages
Year 5 created ‘Ugly Dolls’
The day was celebrated with pupils wearing a flag and learning all about different languages. Our overseas pupils led a virtual assembly to share more of their home traditions.
Inspired by the recent animation, Mrs Barton and Year 5 created weird and wacky ‘Ugly Dolls’ in a DT Textiles project. Amazing!
Millionaires’ Lunch celebrated in year groups
DIY Design Maths Project week
Mrs Keeping and Mr Edwards were hugely impressed with this term’s 55 word millionaires and 10 ‘D badge’ winners. Overall Hazlegrove has read 144 million words this term!
Normal maths lessons paused in week 12 for Prep School pupils to design and cost a home improvement construction project as part of the DIY Design Maths Project week. Mr Shaw was delighted with the results.
New Barn Trip for Year 3
Year 4 visited Ufton Court
Davidus the Celt taught Year 3 all about the Romans by sharing stories, teaching pupils how to make traditional medicines and showing them a Roman soldier’s armour and wartime equipment.
Year 4 took a trip to Ufton Court to learn more about the Tudors in an immersive day of history. The children dressed up in Tudor clothes and attempted to write with a quill.
Hazlegrove enjoyed internal matches throughout the term
Games lessons introduced pupils to new sports...
Pupils played inter-house matches in cricket, rugby and hockey.
...including golf, boys netball, girls rugby, laser shooting, water polo and squash.
Hockey matches against other schools went ahead In line with Government guidance, we welcomed local schools to us for hockey matches.
