Hazlegrove Headlines Bringing the wider Hazlegrove community up to date with recent events...
Hazlegrove pupils escaped the ordinary and became explorers and adventurers. Year 7 had a week of challenge and teambuilding at the River Dart Country Park; Year 5 enjoyed a trip to Naturesbase for four days of scientific discovery, team building, navigation and shelter building; Year 4 visited Ufton Court, an Elizabethan manor for their Tudor Explorers Day and Year 3 had a fun-packed and informative day learning about the Romans and Celts at New Barn.

Ceramic poppies made by the Pre-Prep were laid at the flagpole in Remembrance of former pupils who lost their lives in conflict.

They didn’t realise they were making memories, they just knew they were having fun... the boarders have enjoyed a jam-packed term of activities, trips, good food, good company and time spent with their friends.
Music has been all around us this term...
with many fabulous concerts. Musical trips have included the Flute Group busking in Wells for charity, a French Horn day and an orchestral day at Downe House.

A thrilling week of cartography in maths. Year 3 to
has allowed pupils to work in a bright spacious environment with fantastic natural lighting and beautiful landscape views, ideal for observing and painting. It has been a very productive first term.
Year 7 got hopelessly lost in the exciting world of maps. They plotted co-ordinates, followed bearings and created their very own treasure maps!

very generously made a donation for the creation of a herb garden. The children were very excited to see the beds planted with herbs which they are able to use in their Food Tech lessons.
Two pupils from Hazlegrove travelled to London to put their Mandarin skills to the test in this prestigious competition.

A record breaking Millionaires’ Lunch!
enthusiasts from Year 7 and 8 have been taking part in a challenge to design and create a glider. The competition is being run by Leonardo Helicopters from Yeovil and takes into consideration engineering and aerodynamics.
79 word millionaires enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the Library in celebration of reading their socks off this term.

Year 7 were triumphant with their performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The audience was spellbound as one of our favourite Shakespeare plays was told with flair and conviction and with sparkle and dashings of glittering fairy dust.
Congratulations to our U13 hockey team. They have had a great
season. They remain unbeaten in school fixtures and have won both the King’s Bruton and All Hallows Tournaments.
Our riders have had a super term. We were delighted to welcome Somerset They have been busy both locally and nationally - the highlight being representing England at the NSEA National Championships.

Our Hazlegrove athletes have been busy representing GB
around the world - at the Triathle World Championships in Spain and the Laser Run World Finals in Cape Town.
Our younger athletes had a very
busy and successful afternoon at the Taunton School cross country relay event.
We enjoyed a brilliant Bonfire Night organised by the Friends of Hazlegrove. There was some great food on offer including a hog roast and wood fired pizza. A live band of pupils performed some favourite hits and the evening was topped off with a dazzling firework display.
Illustrating legend and former Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell. Children from four schools came together at Hazlegrove share this wonderful opportunity to see the artist who created Ottoline, Goth Girl and Mr Munroe.
