LETRS TRAINING FOR ADMINISTRATORS LETRS for Administrators helps literacy leaders create efficient methods of analyzing student data, establish effective instructional blocks in literacy, examine resources for all tiers of instruction, and support LETRS professional development participants. The course complements LETRS Training for Teachers and guides state, district, or building leaders in implementing research-based, multitiered instruction. The course also provides administrators with specific steps for facilitating change, developing a comprehensive assessment plan, managing resources, assembling a school leadership team, and making data-based decisions.
MI HEARTSAFE SCHOOLS CPR CERTIFICATION MI HEARTSafe School certification shows that schools have met standards to protect students and staff by rapidly responding to a cardiac arrest. Becoming a MI HEARTSafe school prepares Hazel Park Schools to better handle cardiac arrest emergencies at school and during after-school activities. Hazel Park Schools has a cardiac emergency response plan in place, which is one requirement in becoming a MI HEARTSafe school. Our goal is to have each building in Hazel Park Schools become a MI HEARTSafe School over the next few years.

VOLUNTARY OPTIONS IEP COMPREHENSIVE WALKTHROUGH This voluntary training will equip special education providers in the art of writing a comprehensive and compliant Individualized Education Plan for your students. The focus will rest on a page by page, in depth guide on the components of this document and how to ensure that it implements with integrity and focus on each student's unique abilities. We will also embed a discussion on Least Restrictive Environment as well as transition planning. Any new processes and procedures will be discussed during this training session as well.
MANIFESTATION DETERMINATION REVIEW This voluntary training will equip special education providers with the knowledge and tools to conduct a thorough manifestation determination review when legally justified by a student's disciplinary measures. Providers will learn the law around MDR's; the process; timelines; and circumstances under which they would conduct an MDR. We will look at the "why" of an MDR as well as the special circumstances law.
BEHAVIORAL STRATEGIES This voluntary training will provide a rich discussion on student behaviors in our schools today. It will provide strategies and suggestions for managing these difficult challenges. An in-depth, and engaging discussion will be at the forefront as we openly discuss situations staff are encountering and ways in which to successfully address and manage. We will also touch on the mental health aspect of our families during this session and ways we can assist by reaching out.
