LEADERSHIP HAYWARD REGISTER BY OCTOBER 18 Leadership Hayward is an intensive eight-month program, running from November to June, with one fun Friday session per month. Through our partnership with California State University, East Bay, University Extension, participants can earn 2.0 units of Continuing Education credit upon successful completion of the program.

Program Benefits: Gain in-depth knowledge of Hayward's complex social and economic landscape Explore real-world challenges faced by local leaders Develop critical leadership skills through hands-on experiences Examine diverse leadership styles and consensus-building techniques Network with a diverse cohort of current and future community leaders Impact: Our alumni have moved up to serve in various influential roles, including: State Legislature Local Government Alameda County Board of Supervisors College presidencies Business executive positions Leadership roles in numerous organizations and agencies We gratefully acknowledge the essential support of the City of Hayward and California State University, East Bay and St. Rose Hospital is making this program possible.

$1,000 ELECTRIFICATION MINI GRANT - DEADLINE 10/14 Do you have equipment upgrades or improvements to make at your business that will help you operate more sustainably, but are wondering how to pay for it?

The California Green Business Network and Intuit are providing Certified-Level Green Businesses, or businesses that get certified, with a $1,000 Electrification Mini-Grant to help complete electrification and efficiency projects at your facility.

Applications are being accepted for projects and $1,000 Electrification Mini-Grants will be awarded to 65 Certified-Level Green Businesses.

Complete the Mini-Grant application by 10/14.

CHAMBER PARTNER EVENTS City Council Calendar and Agenda A Public Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024, during the special City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m., to discuss proposed draft maps, election sequencing, and introduce an ordinance to amend the Hayward Municipal Code to add Chapter Article 16 to Chapter 2, establishing district-based city council elections beginning in 2026.
