Foundation News
Celebrating 40 Years of Service to the H.A.R.D. Community

Dear Friends and Supporters of H.A.R.D., As we transition into fall, I’m reminded of the incredible power our community holds when we come together around parks, recreation, and opportunity. The Hayward Area Recreation & Park District (H.A.R.D.) and the H.A.R.D. Foundation remain deeply committed to enriching lives by providing accessible, high-quality recreational and educational experiences for people of all ages.
Whether you’re signing up for a class, exploring a scenic trail, or cheering on your child at a local game, H.A.R.D. offers something for everyone—from toddlers to seniors. Behind the scenes, the H.A.R.D. Foundation is proud to support this work through our “I ♥ H.A.R.D.” campaign, which celebrates everything that makes our community strong, active, and connected. Learn more here: https://thehardfoundation.org/ihearthard/.
At the heart of this campaign is our Scholarship Program, which ensures that no one is turned away due to financial barriers. Thanks to our generous supporters, we’re able to provide assistance that helps local kids learn to swim, attend camp, or enroll in after-school programs—and gives older adults the opportunity to stay active and engaged. It’s more than funding—it’s opening doors to lifelong memories.
“The true measure of a community is how it cares for its people. Through parks, we nurture that care every day.”
I invite you to be part of this impact. Your gift—no matter the size—helps ensure that everyone has a chance to play H.A.R.D. Visit www.thehardfoundation.org/scholarships to learn more or to donate.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we’re building a community where everyone can thrive—this fall and beyond.
With gratitude,
Lori Taylor, President Hayward Area Recreation and Park District Foundation

P.S. “Every child deserves a place to play. Every person deserves a place to belong. Your support makes that possible.”
