Expressing an Automotive Spirit that Blends in the Medieval Centre
This project will be a home for the heritage in Coventry which will be very significant, but also we have to address the importance of the overall experience in the modern museum. and Therefore we aim to make a project that respects the city’s heritage, and landmarks, especially since there is one on the site of intervention whilst at the same time creating a new experience in the city of Coventry with a museum that can hold its most valued treasures and live and adapt with its people.

Strategy
the strategies used in this project are based on the merging of the old and the new through a seemingly expanding metropolis’ roof by fusing it with a new structure that bridges, encircles, and hovers above the space acting as the main gallery of the project although it is mostly hidden from the outside to highlight metropolis and pay tribute to it.

views of the cathedrals’ spires from every angle and direction in the city centre means that we should be respectful of this and respect the height and keep the building height so as not to obstruct the deep visual fields into the spire

Concept Evolution

aimed to combine the ideas of innovation and creating something new with respecting the context and extending and building on what’s already there. it started as a snake-like structure stretching from metropolis and evolved into the loop structure explored further throughout the project, where the central part of metropolis roof merges with the new structure in a continuous wave-like form

The Existing + The loop
geometries of natural systems into a continuum of fluent and dynamic space – where oppositions between exterior and interior, light and dark, and natural and artificial landscapes are synthesized. Lines of energy converge within the Pavilion, constantly redefining the quality of each exhibition space whilst guiding movement through the exhibition

The fluidity of the structure enables an ease of movement throughout the museum and a sense of clear direction throughout the galleries. he loop becomes the primary centrally organizing space where this type of space is rethought to be more dynamic therefore creating this sense of adventure needed in the museum.
