Johnson, Lehman softball teams rally in support of Jag athletic trainer There were few dry eyes in the house at the Moe and Gene Johnson High School softball field April 6 as the Lehman Lobos and Johnson Jaguars softball teams rallied together in support of a Hays CISD employee who is battling cancer. At the conclusion of the April 6 district game, both teams joined together for a quick photo to show support for Johnson High Athletic Trainer Amber Jones, who earlier this year was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently combatting the disease. Along with the show of support, members of the Lehman High softball team prior to the contest offered a signed softball to Jones that had numerous words of encouragement and

High came away with a 7-3 win, which kept the Jags in the chase for a possible playoff berth with only a handful of games remaining. Johnson hosted Kerrville Tivy Tuesday and closes its regular season at

home against Boerne Champion April 23. Lehman hosts Dripping Springs at home Friday, followed by a home game against San Antonio Veterans Memorial April 23.

KYLE – Residents can expect to see even more development in Kyle. Just a few miles south of Austin, the city of Kyle is booming with more foot traffic than ever seen before. City council agendas have been filled with zoning ordinances and development proposals for approval. On April 6, Kyle City Council approved three rezonings on first reading that could lead to potential developments. A second reading is still needed for full approval on the following projects. Sixty-two acres of land, known as the Coleman Tract, will be converted from agriculture to a warehouse district. This property is located at 24801 Interstate 35.
