Informational Items ST Math Ending - December 15, 2023 The TEA grant that funded access to ST Math ends Dec. 15, 2023. Students and teachers will not be able to log in past this date. Advanced Academics Action Items
Texas Core In an effort to increase the number of students who enroll in advanced academic courses, Hays CISD is beginning an awareness campaign in regard to the Texas Core. The Texas Core Refers to 42 hours of college coursework considered to be the core of curriculum for associate’s and bachelor’s degrees at any state college or university in Texas. Secondary Password Reset Update: THANK YOU for the work you have done in order to keep our student data safe. If you would like a list of students who still need to change their passwords, please contact Kris Peterson.
If you are assigning activities in STEM scopes and the activities are not appearing on the student screen, it’s possible they are assigned to two campuses. Have the students click on their ID number at the top right and you will be able to see if they have two campuses on their account. If they do, please send an email to the HELP desk asking them to remove the second campus. Informational Items The Hays CISD Print Shop requests are now available outside the network by using the HCISD Print Shop app in ClassLink.
The login process is the same, The Domain needs to be LDAP Account and the user ID and Password will be the Network username and password.

Gifted and Talented Services Action Items Principals, I have finalized the fall G/T audit and consolidated all teachers within the district who need to complete training on one spreadsheet which can be viewed at THIS LINK. This is for informational purposes, please do not share the spreadsheet with teachers. The first tab of the spreadsheet is a list of all teachers needing training. Please do not make changes to the first tab. For your individual campus, click on the tab at the bottom. Please meet with the teachers listed and develop a plan for how they will meet this requirement. In column O, document when you met with the teacher and in column P, document their plan. I know many of you have already met with teachers and created a plan. If a teacher believes he/she has already completed the required training, let me know and I will double check. Fall online courses are open until November 30. A list of available courses can be found at THIS LINK. Registration is available in Eduphoria. As a reminder, if teachers do not complete their required training by November 30, they will be documented by the principal and an action plan will be created. From the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students: 5.1 A minimum of thirty (30) clock hours of professional learning that includes nature and needs of gifted/talented students, identification and assessment of gifted/talented students, and curriculum and instruction for gifted/talented students is required for teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the district’s defined gifted/talented services. Teachers are required to have completed the thirty (30) hours of professional learning prior to their assignment to the district’s gifted/talented services (19 TAC §89.2(1)). 5.2 Teachers without required training who are assigned to provide instruction and services that are part of the district’s defined gifted/talented services are required to complete the thirty (30) hour training within one semester (19 TAC §89.2(2)). 5.6 Teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the district’s defined gifted/talented services receive a minimum of six (6) hours annually of professional development in gifted/talented education that is related to state teacher gifted/talented education standards (19 TAC §89.2(3) and TAC §233.1). Multilingual Education and Migrant Programs Action Items
Informational Items You still have time to register for Impact 2023! The fourth annual Impact Conference is a free virtual event with sessions December 4th, 5th, and 7th. Join educators from across the country for a week of professional learning geared toward improving education opportunities for multilingual learners.
Bilingual Campuses: Dr. Elizet Moret will be on campuses on Tuesday, 11/28 & Wednesday, 11/29. Group A (TGES/SHES/HES) visits will be on 11/28 & Group B (CRES/UES/BVES) will be on 11/29. The purpose of these visits is to support campus administrators as our bilingual/DL teachers implement Biliteracy in their classrooms. Schedule is forthcoming.
