Juniper Square is located in the heart of lower downtown Denver. This building is a mixed-use affordable housing site where students of the local campuses can continue to study without being priced out of the highly priced downtown housing market. They will not only be able to live above a cafe, a plant store, and a book store but will also be able to mesh and connect with the community through these spaces.

JUNIPER HILL

The design merges sustainability, and community. Underground parking maximizes land use, while the main floor features a coffee shop and a plant/book store, creating vibrant mixed-use spaces Above, three floors of 45 residential micro-units maximizes floor space, and fosters a sense of community and enhancing the urban experience through convenience and lifestyle.

CLT is used for the entire residential structural system- utilizing a sustainable approach to typical construction. The design incorporates a green roof, and railings with embedded planter boxes which enhances biodiversity, reduces urban heat, and creates a harmonious blend of architecture and nature.

For this design-build project, our studio partnered with the l Tenants-to-Homeowners affordable, durable home transitioning out of homelessness. We worked together as a studio to design the tiny home the construction document in the fall. Over the winter our studio has started prefabrication few framed walls and ceilings as we prepared for the arrival our or panels that make up a majority of its structure, and will break ground in the spring. We strive to achieve a low-cost, energy efficient home that would feel welcoming for any resident.

Hijaleen is located along the southern coast of Helsinki, Finland, right on the end of a expansive row of parks and communal green spaces. This building is a mixed-use affordable housing site where artists of the heart of Helsinki’s arts district can continue to work on their craft without being priced out of the central hub. They are able to build in the large makers-space and workshops enabled with full varieties of equipment, as well as sell and display their work in the retail and gallery spaces. This building includes 16 onebedroom apartments attached to their own studio spaces, allowing them to live and work all in the same unit.

EROSION

The concept of erosion is woven into the massing of my building through its cascading balconies, The balconies mimic the way erosion carves and refines landscapes, allowing for a visually compelling void at the building’s center. This core not only enhances the building's aesthetics but also promotes natural light and airflow, embodying the principles of erosion in both form and function, as well as prioritizing environmental sustainability in the design.

MAKER’S SPACE

Erosion is seen both through the massing of the building and through the floor plans. High traffic zones in public spaces widen with increased use while residential spaces exhibit tight passageways. This gradual transformation mirrors natural erosion processes, where the continuous flow of people sculpts and refines the layout, creating smoother, more defined routes.

Sketch paper, pencil, pen

During the summer of 2024, I had the transformative experience of studying abroad in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden. This opportunity allowed me to immerse myself in diverse architectural styles and cultural contexts, profoundly influencing my approach to design. My longstanding passion for sketching flourished as I honed my techniques and developed my personal style throughout the program. This journey was truly life-changing, reshaping my perspective on architecture and leaving an indelible mark on my creative vision.

Procreate

For my study abroad course, I created an analytique of the Opera Parken building in Sweden. This artistic representation includes various views and select architectural details. By carefully integrating these elements, I crafted a cohesive and visually engaging work of art that captures the essence of the building’s design and its interaction with it’s surrounding environment. This project showcased my ability to analyze and visually communicate architectural concepts, highlighting the harmony between structure and context.
