Evening Program & Auction Catalog A benefit for the Hawaiian Humane Society
People for Animals. Animals for People. 2700 Waialae Avenue Honolulu, Hawaii 96826 808.356.2225 HawaiianHumane.org The Hawaiian Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond and the humane treatment of all animals.
Our producers for tonight’s gala deserve a standing ovation: Event Chairs Jim Nabors & Stan Cadwallader, Table Sales Chair Ginny Tiu and Auction Chair Anna Meng, along with so many others. These committed volunteers have spent the last several months rallying support for the animals. It is this spirit of volunteerism, activism and enthusiasm for our cause that ignited the animal welfare movement in 1883. More than 130 years ago, animal lovers came together as a small group of concerned citizens who wanted to make Oahu a better place for animals. These early pioneers included King Kalakaua, Helen Kinau Wilder and other great leaders of our cause. They sparked a movement that would transform our relationship with animals. We are heirs to this tradition of compassion, care and charity for our most vulnerable. Our founders have given us purpose for our future which is our responsibility to realize. Now it is up to us and only us to provide for generations and generations of animals and people to come. Your support makes everything we do possible. Mahalo for your generosity this evening. It matters so much.
