With the 2024 summer season in full swing, many events and attractions around the Havre area are entering their peak season.
Historical attractions such as Havre Beneath the Streets, Frank DeRosa Railroad Museum, H. Earl Clack Museum, Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump, and Fort Assiniboine provide many opportunities to delve into the rich history surrounding Havre. I highly encourage everyone in the Havre area to explore these historical treasures within our community. Complimentary walking tour maps of our downtown and residential historic districts are available at the Havre Chamber office located at 130 5th Avenue. These self-guided tours offer a glimpse into Havre’s unique and colorful past. Even if you have visited these local gems in the past, I invite you to revisit them and rediscover Havre.
In addition to our local historical attractions, I encourage you to get outside. Local parks, Havre City Pool, Beaver Creek Park, Fresno Reservoir, the Milk River, the badlands, and several Havre Trails walking and hiking trails all provide limitless options for outdoor recreation. Camping, disk golf, boating, tubing, swimming, stargazing, bird watching, hunting, fishing, hiking and climbing opportunities abound in our area. We are so lucky to have so many opportunities to enjoy these wide open spaces year round!
Last, but certainly not least, our community hosts many exciting annual entertainment and cultural events. The Sweetgrass Society Pow Wow, Bear Paw Marathon, Hi-Line Art Council Art Alley Celebration, Living History Day, Montana Actors’ Theatre Renaissance Faire, Sounds on the Square concert series, 4th of July Celebration, Saturday Farmers’ Market, Great Northern Fair, Rocky Boy Pow Wow, Havre Festival Days Celebration and many other local happenings provide countless opportunities for entertainment and community engagement. I look forward to seeing everyone out and about enjoying our wonderful community.
