New stop for HS1 in Havering or Barking and Dagenham

The Thames Corridor has always been considered a major area for regeneration. It has already seen major growth and investment which is starting to move further east in London and Essex. Havering benefits with the Thames Freeport and the potential new East Havering Data Centre. It also has the Riverside BID and new housing growth. The new third Thames River Crossing will improve connectivity between Essex and Kent. However, the whole region still suffers from limited infrastructure such as good public transport connections to help unlock this potential further.

This all impacts the wider borough of Havering which has limited North to South public transport connectivity. We agree there needs to be a wider strategic approach to join the dots between Essex and London to help see the true potential of this growth to improve access to jobs, skills and homes.

Push for an upgrade to Barking and West Ham stations to cope with more rail passengers
