In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on. - Robert Frost

Mission Statement The Haverford School literary magazine -Pegasus- was created to bolster our community by spreading the passion of its writers. We especially recognize its importance during these trying times. Even while social distancing, the Pegasus staff assembles to provide an outlet for The Haverford School’s literary community. The job of the literary magazine staff is to compile the literary works of our school, support them with beautiful photography or art pieces, and organize the two in a cohesive design that is both visually appealing and audibly ringing. The hardworking staff utilizes the extra time they have in their schedules to collaboratively piece together this magazine.

Letter from the Editors To the Reader: Welcome to Pegasus, The Haverford School Literary Magazine. During this trying time, we have had to remain socially distanced and masked in order to preserve our common health. Despite the current circumstances, the Pegasus staff strove to provide the literary outlet where members of our community can connect. We were inspired by reading the submissions for this year and excited about designing this magazine. This edition of Pegasus has been a testimony to our strength of community. The added obstacles would lead one to believe there would be functional limitations. It has been quite the contrary; the editorial staff’s efforts reinforced each other, allowing for critical discussion surrounding the magazine and the challenges we faced. Through trial, our connections grew stronger. As always, we want to thank our faculty leadership for their guidance and support, Ms. Smith-Kan and Ms. Hitchcock. It is Ms. Smith-Kan’s unrelenting enthusiasm for the magazine and motivation that holds the staff together. Ms. Hitchcock, our InDesign expert, helps us edit the magazine and send it to print. Every year, we constantly rely on them as the backbone of Pegasus, and with this year’s challenges, we have needed them more than ever. As always, they were there to guide us, teach us, and lead us in pursuit of finishing this magazine. Most of all. we could not have made this magazine without the amazing students that submitted their works of prose, poetry, and photography. We thank you all so much. All your hard work and passion are what make our magazine so unique and special. Enjoy the magazine! Its purpose is to share the amazing pieces of prose, poetry art and photography you all create in a beautiful medium. We would not be able to do it without you guys! With Regards, Pegasus Editors
