arwood International’s elegant and authentic Italian restaurant, Dolce Riviera, recently reopened! The Dallasfavorite establishment returned with new and classic menu items of coastal Italian cuisine with a modern twist. The concept plays into the “La Dolce Vita” era, once heralded as the golden age of cinema and dynamic creativity.

"Dolce Riviera has always been a favorite in Dallas and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our

new version back. We will take you to the Italian Riviera with our extensive wine list, homemade pasta, signature cocktails, and impeccable service,” says Matthew Minichino, Chief Operating Officer at Harwood Hospitality Group.

Dolce Riviera continues to transport guests to the romantic, airy coastal regions of the Mediterranean with their familiar, chic blue and white color scheme. The beautiful scenery doesn’t stop inside, as Dolce Riviera’s outdoor patio is

reminiscent of an Italian giardino with manicured pocket gardens and stunning, winding lemon trees.

Under the direction of Executive Chef Taylor Kearney, classic and fan-favorite menu items are making their return including the Burrata, Spaghetti Pomodoro, Porterhouse Bistecca alla Fiorentina, and Branzino. New and returning guests can look forward to some fresh menu items including the Gnocchi al Genovese, Mortadella Arancini, Veal Milanese, and Polpettine.

"Gnocchi al Tartufo and the burrata are both returning dishes that share unique takes on classical cuisine," says Chef Taylor Kearney, Corporate Chef at Harwood Hospitality Group. "We are thrilled to offer a larger emphasis on fresh seafood with some of our new dishes, like the Risotto ai Frutti di Mare and the Tagliatelle Nero di Seppia.”

Dolce Riviera also has a new addition, The Parlor at Dolce Riviera. It doubles as a luxurious grab and go spot for the Harwood District tenants by day and transforms to an intimate cocktail lounge by night. The space offers a petite menu serving breakfast and lunch, as well as select specialty cocktails and wine during lunchtime. In the evenings, The Parlor will feature its own cocktail menu making it a perfect stop for an aperitivo or nightcap. Some signature cocktails include the Smoky Parlor Old Fashioned, Prim and Proper Martini, and Italian 75 Aperitif.

“We are thrilled to be debuting The Parlor at Dolce Riviera,” says Warren Richards, Vice President of Harwood Hospitality Group. “This unique and intimate hideaway allows guests to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail as a prelude to or as an encore after your experience at Dolce Riviera. The beautiful, natural wooden finishes of the interiors speak to an Alpine alcove, reminiscent of the landscape of Northern Italy.”

Dolce Riviera is located in the Harwood District at 2950 N. Harwood St., Dallas. Guests will receive complimentary valet parking, and limited street parking is available on McKinnon Street and Harwood Street.

Dolce Riviera is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday starting at 5 p.m. with brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 11 a.m. The Parlor is open for breakfast Monday through Friday at 7 a.m., and open for cocktails Wednesday through Sunday at 5 p.m.

HARWOOD NO. 14 NEARLY 70 PERCENT PRE-LEASED Harwood International recently announced a new lease at its latest and tallest office tower, Harwood No. 14. Acclaimed international law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP has signed a lease to triple its space and occupy 75,000 square feet in the new tower. O’Melveny’s lease will bring Harwood No. 14 to approximately 70 percent pre-leased after breaking ground just over a year ago.

Phil Puckett and Harlan Davis from Dallas CBRE along with Jeff Welch and Lynn Williams from Los Angeles CBRE negotiated the deal with Kelly Whaley and Hannah Mesh of Harwood International.

O’Melveny is a leading law firm with more than 800 lawyers in 18 offices across the globe. The firm expanded into Texas in June 2021, opening offices in Austin and Dallas. In May 2022, the firm opened an office in Houston. Now, O’Melveny’s Texas roster includes upwards of 50 lawyers—with more than 30 in Dallas.

Harwood International has seen continued growth into 2022 with over 122,000 square feet of leases signed since the start of the year. The firm’s emphasis on providing hospitality level customer service within their developments, has set them apart and have proven effective in tenant retention and growth.

EXCERPT FROM ART OF ARMOR The book Art of Armor: Samurai Armor from the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection presents the Japanese armor collection of The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection, located in the Harwood District. The book consists of several informative essays and a catalog of 120 significant works in the collection.

Learn about one of the masterpieces in the following excerpt from Art of Armor.

"A rare masterpiece, this six-plate iron helmet represents the flaming jewel, which symbolizes the Buddhist doctrine. Each flange, or suji, has been cut from a sheet of iron into the shape of small flames that join at the top of the helmet as one larger flame.

A fukurin decorative edging in a twisted cord pattern encircles the base of the helmet bowl. The iron mabizashi (visor) is marked with two decorative notches. The gilded bronze maedate (frontal crest) is heart shaped and represents the goddess of archers, Marishiten. The fukigaeshi (turned-back deflectors) to either side of the visor are also shaped as flames. The iron hineno jikoro (close-fitting neck guard) consists of five brown lacquered itamono plates and continues the motif, each plate notched in a flame pattern. The underside of the neck guard is gold lacquered, and the crossknotted sugake odoshi lacing is in orange braiding."
