Message from the Head of School As I begin my first year as Head of School at Harvey, I am already deeply moved by how this community shapes and supports the lives of so many students.
Since arriving in July, I have spent many hours listening to Harvey parents, faculty and staff, students, and alumni, and I have come to appreciate what makes this school so distinctive: Harvey is an “and” school, not an “or” school. Rather than being defined as simply a rigorous college-preparatory program or a kind and safe place, Harvey represents a rare blend — a school where students can achieve impressive accomplishments and still experience the joy, curiosity, and wonder of childhood. To wit, 95% of our 2026 graduating seniors were accepted into one of their top three college choices. This achievement is a testament to the fact that our students do not have to choose between a rigorous academic experience and the freedom to explore, take risks, and discover what inspires them. At Harvey, students can be highly successful in the college process without having to follow a cookie-cutter path to college preparation. They can pursue their passions — in drama and the arts, athletics, ecology, and outdoor education — while developing the intellectual curiosity, independence, and confidence that prepare them for success beyond Harvey.
built through the dedication of families, alumni, and friends who believe deeply in Harvey and invest in its future. Together, we continue our journey to fulfill our mission: to prepare and inspire independent, adventurous thinkers and engaged, compassionate citizens. I am fiercely optimistic about our ability to live this mission — buoyed by our dynamic and dedicated staff, our thoughtful and supportive families, our proud alumni, and our skilled board. I am fiercely optimistic that Harvey will remain a place where students truly explore their full potential. And I am fiercely optimistic that we will continue to serve as a one-of-a-kind school in our region. Thank you for your unwavering support of Harvey. Your generosity in the past year has helped create the opportunities, experiences, and environment that our students benefit from today. I look forward to building on that foundation together and ensuring that Harvey continues to be a place where students can experience the beautiful blend of high achievement and joyful exploration. Warmly,
The wonderful things I see at Harvey today are, in large part, the result of the generosity and commitment reflected in this Impact Report. The opportunities our students enjoy, the strength of our programs, and the sense of possibility that permeates our campus have been
Dr. Paul Adler Head of School
Impact Report 2025-2026

Letter from the Board Chair This year will be a year of both reflection and transition. In everything that we do as a school and as a Board of Trustees, we look towards our mission: “Our purpose is to prepare and inspire students to become independent, adventurous thinkers and engaged, compassionate citizens in courageous pursuit of knowledge and truth.” The Harvey School exists to provide students with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to thrive, both in and beyond the classroom. After ten years of outstanding leadership, our former Head of School Bill Knauer concluded his tenure at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. Mr. Knauer was the architect, along with the Board and strategic planning committee, of the mission statement that serves as our North Star, and his legacy will continue as students for many years to come remain inspired, adventurous, courageous and curious. We are profoundly grateful for his vision, dedication, and steady leadership. We welcome Harvey’s tenth Head of School Dr. Paul Adler to our community. Dr. Adler was chosen by the Board of Trustees to lead Harvey in our next chapter after a nationwide Head of School search. We thank everyone who shared their perspectives and priorities to help us shape our search criteria and we thank the many parents, students, alumni, faculty and staff who met with our Head of School candidates to give them a glimpse into our thoughtful and engaged school community. We especially thank our Search committee, led by Board Secretary Ashley Foote, who gave many hours and days and weeks to this important task. Dr. Adler emerged as a unanimous first choice, and these first weeks on the job have proven that he will lead the school with intelligence, enthusiasm and compassion. He believes in Harvey’s mission and has spent much of the summer listening and learning, making sure that every community member is heard, seen and valued. Dr. Adler is committed to understanding Harvey’s history and traditions, while also being our steward in the school’s next chapter, embracing innovation and progress. Through these changes and milestones, the strength of the Harvey community has never been stronger. The heart of that support is the Harvey Fund, our most important annual fundraising initiative. As an independent school, Harvey operates on a dual-revenue model: tuition and philanthropy. The Harvey Fund bridges the gap, covering approximately 4-6% of our annual operating expenses. In many ways, it
2
represents the tax-deductible portion of your tuition — and it is essential to the daily life of the school. We are especially grateful to our Leadership Donors, who contributed $7,500 or more during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Your generosity makes an extraordinary difference, and is a powerful expression of belief in Harvey’s mission. Thank you to my fellow Trustees, faculty, parents, alumni, and friends. Your commitment, generosity, and engagement is the cornerstone of our ability to live our missions and provide the education and atmosphere that defines Harvey. I cannot wait to see what we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
Jerri-Lynn Galgano P’20, ’23 Chair, Board of Trustees

Like all independent schools, Harvey’s financial model incorporates philanthropy into our annual operating budget, making the Harvey Fund essential to sustaining the breadth and excellence of opportunities we offer our students. Day of Giving 2025 We remain immensely grateful to all the Harvey families who stepped forward during Day of Giving 2025. Together, you helped raise over $400,000, directly enhancing the student journey through strategic investments in new technology, campus facility improvements, faculty development, and specialized programs that strengthen our curriculum. We are profoundly honored by the outstanding support of our current parents. We are proud to extend special recognition to our families in 6th & 9th Grade for achieving the highest levels of participation during Day of Giving 2025. This collective generosity stands as a testament to our community’s dedication to advancing Harvey’s mission today and in the future.

Weil House & Alumni Barn Campaign The completion of the Weil House and Alumni Barn Complex marks an exciting milestone for the Harvey community, bringing a longtime vision to life. This transformation has created a welcoming, flexible space that honors Harvey’s past while meeting the needs of our campus today and into the future. More than a striking new front door to Harvey, the Weil House and Alumni Barn have brought vibrant new energy to daily campus life. Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, the space served as a bustling hub for connection, hosting a rich tapestry of community-building events, engaging student programming, and shared celebrations. By providing a dedicated, welcoming environment for families and visitors, the center has also helped open up much-needed classroom space on the main campus. We are deeply grateful to all of the donors whose generosity and commitment made this project possible. Below, we are pleased to recognize and thank the many individuals and families who contributed to the Weil House and Alumni Barn throughout the course of the campaign. Their support has created a lasting legacy for generations of Harvey students, families, and alumni.

All About Endowment A school endowment represents a permanent pool of funds, strategically invested to generate steady, long-term income that secures an institution’s future. Thanks to the exceptional stewardship and dedication of our Investment Committee, our endowment has grown to more than $8.5 million. The majority of these resources are directly allocated to financial aid and faculty professional development, creating a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of our students and educators.

The Harvey School Planned Gifts These gifts include bequests, charitable trusts, life insurance, real estate, or other tangible property. Depending on the donor’s circumstances, a planned gift may not only greatly benefit The Harvey School but might also provide significant tax advantages for the donor and the donor’s family. Herbert Carter Legacy Society
Charitable Trusts
Members of this ever-growing, generous group have indicated that they have made provisions for Harvey in their estate plans. We are truly grateful to all those who have made provisions in their will for The Harvey School. Through these generous bequests, Harvey is assured long-term fiscal health.
» Charitable remainder trusts place assets in trust for the benefit of the school, while a fixed percentage of the trust or annuity is paid out to the donor, a family member, or another beneficiary. The donor may choose to have income paid for the life of a beneficiary or for a certain number of years. At the end of the term, these assets are transferred

We recognize that some donors, however, have specific interests that they want to encourage and support. Gifts for specific purposes should be described as broadly as possible. For example, a donor may want to leave a gift restricted for scholarships, faculty support, or a particular program. The donor’s attorney or estate planner as well as a Harvey School representative should be consulted to accommodate individual circumstances.

Spring Gala: Meet Me in Monaco
“An Evening of Gaming, Glamour and Giving” The 2026 gala highlighted the remarkable creativity of our parent volunteers and the outstanding talent of our fine arts faculty and staff, who helped transform The Walker Center for the Arts into a French Riviera-themed casino. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of casino games, a beautifully designed silent auction, delicious food, and a rousing live auction. Together, we raised our paddles, lifted our spirits, and strengthened support for the incredible work of the Harvey learning community.

Development Interns This year, Harvey continued our Development Internship Program, offering students the opportunity to work alongside the Advancement Office and gain firsthand experience in the fields of philanthropy, charitable giving, and nonprofit management. Interns played an active role in supporting the School’s mission by assisting with event preparation, organizational projects, and campaign
initiatives. Their contributions not only strengthened the work of the Advancement team but also provided them with valuable insight into how philanthropy helps sustain and advance independent schools. 2025-2026 Development Interns Quinn Borzoni ’27 Vishal Thadani ’26 Caleigh Flink ’26 Brian Goldban ’27
