AMANDA G. SCOTT, CPA - Revenue Commissioner - Morgan County, Alabama The Revenue Commissioner is elected by the people of Morgan County for a six year term and is responsible for the mapping, appraising, assessing, and collecting of ad valorem taxes as levied by the government.

The office collects approximately 62 million dollars annually.

Since my election in 1996, I have made every effort to serve you and simplify the process of ad valorem property tax for the citizens of Morgan County. To accomplish this goal, our website offers online property tax data, tax maps, and online payment services to the public. We have satellite offices in Hartselle and Lacey’s Spring for your convenience.

If you are 65 years of age or disabled, you may qualify for an exemption which will result in a decrease of your property tax. Please call our office for further information.

TAX SALE Each May, tax delinquent property is auctioned off to the highest bidder in front of the Morgan County Courthouse in Decatur, Alabama. Tax sale property is advertised during the month of April. The tax sale will be Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Go to our website, www.morgancountyrevenue.com, to view a list of delinquent properties.

Dear A.P. Brewer High School Class of 2020,

I am writing this with a heavy heart because of the current chaotic situation we are in and how it has affected your Senior Year. I am truly sorry and disappointed for the many things you have missed out on (sports, banquets, prom, awards day, etc) during this time. I sincerely miss seeing you all coming into the building from the parking lot and saying good morning to you. I also miss popping in the classrooms every morning and seeing you and your teachers. I know from talking to all your teachers, they are very saddened by this situation and have missed seeing you in their classes.

It has been an absolute pleasure to be your Principal this school year. As I am sure we all have many great memories together, this historical time in education will be one that we will never forget.

At the time of writing this (4/28/20), I am still not sure when we can have your Graduation. However, I can promise you, WE WILL HAVE A GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR YOU. Brewer High School will forever be your home. Please remember, if you ever need us, we will be more than happy to help you.

Dear Graduating Class of 2020,

Wow! What a year it has been! I know you did not end your senior year in the normal, traditional way that seniors typically end their senior years. However, there is nothing ordinary about any of you; you are an amazing group of extraordinary young people. 2020 is your year, and it is definitely unique and extraordinary. It is a year that will be remembered for years to come; it has earned a place in history. Oh, the stories you will be able to tell!

I know many of you were disappointed about the ending to your senior year, but let’s not focus on the way it ended. We should focus on the great times that were had, the relationships and friendships that were formed, and what we learned through the experience. This is not an ending, it is a new beginning for each of you. You are prepared for this journey.
