Our Quest to build happy neighborhoods
We are in the middle of a Happiness Revolution. Maybe, we are getting closer to the truth about what makes people happy, or perhaps we live in a time where happiness requires more effort and entirely new approaches. Probably, a combination of both.
A historically lost factor in the happiness equation, however, is neighborhoods. Neighborhoods are where people spend most of their free time, and if happiness can flourish there, it is likely to spread to other parts of life as well. Therefore, we seek to develop the happiest neighborhoods in the world. To guarantee our success, we got a little help from the people who know best – you.
For the second year in a row, we asked about 8000 people across our eight markets what quality of life means to them. Of course, everyone is different, but we are all humans and do have a few things in common.
In our findings, we realized that neighborhood happiness resembles the process of building a house; it develops block by block.
