Commencing my architecutre education, the ‘concept of space’ is the most that has intrigued me - how the nature of space changes by merely modifying its scale, levels and fenestrations. Architecture appealed me when realised that it has the power to impact peoples life and its surroundings.

I always try to study various aspects of space and light during my design process. Sketching, Digital modeling and researching about the key apsects are the foosteps that I follow during design process to tackle the problem innovatively. I am willing to work hard and be persistent to learn the process of creating impactful architecture that could thus help the society.

Vocational training can be instrumental in combating college dropouts, inducing the ‘Culture of Skills’ and to encourage numerous practical vocations. The job market becomes more inclusive and makes way for innovation and specializations, thus evolving a platform for successful economic activities. The design revolves around creating spaces which are filled with light. Strategic provision of service core, fins , and maximum glass openings are used wherever possible. Seamlessly weaving breakout spaces and Learning spaces for better Environment.

Semester : 05

Year : 2021-22

Guide : Ar. Mahesh Nilakh

Area : 7,500 Sq.m.

Location : Faroe Islands, Norway

The project adapted contextual approach taking inspiration from Neo Faroese Architecture. Process commenced from the architectural roots of the place but developed with a modern approach - catering a space for the office. It would be a part of the overall development of the Island hence the creation of an iconic structure was a design demand. A rectangle was skewed from both ends creating a rhomboid - minimal silhouette - an output from the native architecture. Staircase was used to enhance the overall impact of iconic architecture

Entrance provides an experience of Dynamic Form and Magnificient Scale of the structure. While the first two floors creates a connection with the rear landscape (acting as an amphitheatre) and the Bridge in the front provides beautiful Sea views while traversing through it.

The stepped floor plates provides an open office structure resulting into various configuration of spaces. The Monolithic staircase connects all the floors and acts as common recreational space providing spectacular views to all.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Area : 230 Sq.m.

Location : Kurla, Mumbai

The world becoming increasingly dependent on electronic communication and the ability to gain operational efficiency through connectivity, the company has decided to open its creative and tech office in all the major metros of India and Mumbai being the media capital, the first step starts from here. Indian based OTT platform - TVF was selected and its office space was designed.

The idea derives from the working nature of the user. TVF being an upcoming OTT platform provides youth oriented content. A platform that displays the problem of the current society in a fun way. Thus ‘informality’ became an important derivative for the project. Creating an informal space in the core of office from which different functions branches outwards. Yellow colour is thus used to empahsis this area - indireclty relating it to the living nature of the TVF productions. The free flowing ceiling space is used as an element to connect the entire office and thus visually increasing the office area. The undulations are strategically placed in the ceiling to provide different experiences as well as to create focus in certain space with the play of double and single heights. The pores in Bamboo sheets in the ceilings provides penetration of light.

SOLAR DECATHLON COMPETITION

Semester : 05-06

Year : 2021-22

Team : 11 Architecture Students from Rachna Sansad’s Academy Of Architecture alongwith 2 Engineers from VNIT Nagpur and 1 Environmental Planning Student from SPA Bhopal Area : 7,150 Sq.m.

Location : Khandeshwar, Navi-Mumbai

Solar Decathlon India comes as an opportunity for the Team’s stride towards an ecologically as well as socially sound built environment. Here, construction workers are migrants and stay on-site in poorly constructed temporary shelters, without proper hygiene or comfort and even electricity. This worker housing within the net-zero context gives us the opportunity to address both the concerns of the environment and society simultaneously.

MOODABIDRI

A SERIES OF COMPLEXITY AND CONTRADICTION

Semester : 02, 04

Year : 2021-22

Team : AOA Batch of 2024

Guide : Ar. Neha Panchi & Ar. Yagnik Bathija

Location : Moodabidri, Karnataka

DOCUMENTATION

Architectural documentation for years had been limited to the making of dimensional drawings which have now paved its way to the collection of cultural and social anecdotes along with the observation of life within these spaces. Intelligentsia investigates architecture through various lenses that directly influence it but architecture as a system holds much more ancillary influence on the lives of people economically, socially, politically, and vice versa.

Jainism is a religious ethnicity spread predominantly in the north. However, there exists an idiosyncratic quaint ‘Jain’ town in the Dakshin Kannada region of Karnataka, 34kms northeast of Mangalore showcasing some of the most prodigious stone and timber anatomy of India which differs from typical North Indian religious Jain settlements. 18 Basadis, 18 lakes, 18 streets, and 1000 pillars all that is avowed about this temple town but Moodabidri holds much more than that, It narrates the story of a famine hit group that travels across half of the country and slowly establishes footholds of a renowned religion in a place where it is seldom seen to have been practiced, which leads to the development of an architectural typology - a fusion of the philosophies of a non-indigenous religion with the architectural style of the local South Indian context. The part of the town, near Jain street, appears as an architectural frame frozen in time

But does this frame its identity? Pondering upon the entire social media and online data resources, the most prominent, rather only dominating image is the exaggerated name ‘Thousand Pillar Temple’ in the name of Moodabidri appears, where its actual identity is disguised and the true essence and chronology of the Basadis have been ignored, Jainism’s thought of simplicity and religious conservatives is questioned.

COMPETITION

Semester : 05

Year : 2021-22

Team : Krishna Khurusane, Viresh Desai & Manasa Ravikumar

Area : 2,500 Sq.m.

Location : Baghere, Senegal, Africa

Opportunities build strength. Opportunities for all imbibe equality. KATTAN meaning ‘strength’, aspires to be a space that becomes a transparent, seamless, and flexible platform for women to participate and strengthen. It would strive to imbibe a sense of freedom and safety in the Women of Senegal and inculcate a political identity of them in the village. The house is an expression that becomes a platform completely transparent of activities that creates an image of the power the women hold, through the work they do at the women’s house.
