Our spring season is bursting with drama, music and comedy to put a smile on your face!

2024 has been a very buoyant year with record sales, so I’d like to thank you all for supporting us once more in such challenging times.

2025 is an important year for us as it is our 125th birthday. Harrogate Theatre opened on 13th January 1900 with a special benefit gala for the returning soldiers of the Boar War. This was then followed by a run of the pantomime Dick Whittington.

Over the course of the year, we will be hosting a number of fundraising events to celebrate this milestone starting with a gala presentation of Beauty and the Beast on 15th January 2025.

Details of other events will be announced as the year unfolds. So do keep a look out as to how you can contribute to the theatre’s next 125 years!

The spring season is as varied and eclectic as ever. John Godber’s Do I Love You is a vibrant exploration into the phenomena that

was Northen Soul, DeNada Dance Theatre’s Mariposa is an operatic dance drama that transports Puccini’s Madame Butterly to postrevolutionary Cuba and A Kept Man is the new musical from acclaimed writer and performer Matthew Bugg (Lord of The Rings, Zorro, Miss Nightingale). It’s a unique opportunity, exclusive to Yorkshire audiences, to experience a concert performance of an exciting new show ahead of its full West End production Our community companies have come up with a tremendous range of shows once more with Ripon Amateur Operatic Society presenting Annie, Pheonix Players spring offering is the ever-popular Wizard of Oz, whilst Harrogate Dramatic Society will present two contemporary classics - One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Woman in Mind.

Cel ebrating 125 years of harro gate theatre As we celebrate this milestone we're delighted to be partnering up with some of our friends from the town.

Look out for a BID trail, a wonderful gala performance from our community companies, some brilliant competitions from Your Harrogate and the opportunity to have a Mama Doreen's afternoon tea on the Harrogate Theatre stage!

We have more shows this year than ever before so enjoy all that there is on offer! Expect the hilarious in our Comedy Festival, sparkle and festive fun in our award winning pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the usual drama, comedy and music throughout the year!

We've also set ourselves a target of raising £125,000 so keep an eye out for ways to get involved with our fundraising efforts and help keep Harrogate Theatre thriving for another 125 years.

A record of one of the greatest survival stories in the history of exploration, South is the original film of Shackleton’s 1914–16 expedition to Antarctica aboard the Endurance, during which the ship was crushed by ice, stranding the crew. Unseen since it sank in the Weddell Sea in 1915, the wreck of Endurance was finally found in March 2022.
